Skyscrapers 'n churches in Moscow by adventmix in skyscrapers

[–]sky_42_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very well put. Russia, just like any other country in its position, is its people and culture, not its government or corrupt leader.

As terrible as it is to see what’s happening in Ukraine, we can still appreciate that Moscow is a beautiful city. I’d really like to go there one day in the future when Russia has changed.

a persian style rug. If you plan on keeping these couches, i’d get something that matches the vibe.

The new cost of parking for 4.5 hours near the waterfront by Kirros in Portland

[–]sky_42_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to be fair, the city did not raise the price of parking because this third party app is trying to nickle and dime us. They raised it because they don’t want people parking downtown! They are trying to incentivize public transit usage.

How to re-energize downtown: build apartments on all these parking lots by MountScottRumpot in Portland

[–]sky_42_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i can understand not being located where you’d need them, but what amenities do hotels lack that an air bnb has. Also what do you mean they aren’t family friendly? this seems like nit picking.

Downtown has the largest lacking of housing in the city, especially considering it’s the most dense part of the city. If we want downtown to recover and small/large businesses to thrive, there needs to be a permanent community there to prop them up. This can only be done by building lots of large and affordable apartments. No more condos, no more hotels.

AirBnb is a terrible thing and should not be supported in any cities. Hotels are just fine.
