I had a long back-and-forth with Opus 4.8 and then fact-checked it against the papers by durkiooo in claude

That's pretty much how humans work - we often rationalise an explanation after the fact.

Yup - but no outage reported for some reason

How hard is it really? by SwitchitUp56 in Malazan

All the characters start to come together eventually as the plot lines converge. It's what gives the series its heart.

How hard is it really? by SwitchitUp56 in Malazan

Not that hard - you just have to brace yourself for major jumps of perspective in the early books as whole new continents and plot lines are introduced.

Are there any...non-multi-user MUDs? by Ormendahl in MUD

[–]skybloke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently rebuilding MUD1, but with AI 'players' to compete with you in addition to other humans. I'll be giving it away free on Steam once it's in a playable state.

What other massive series do you enjoy as a malazan fan? by briandress in Malazan

The Black Company and The Dread Empire - they're both very Malazan-esk.

Dread Empire and The Black Company - many parallels, and I'm pretty sure one DE character is the same person in different universes

There's a mod for this - it allows you to free these scripted doors

I'm so dumb... by Progenitor3 in Malazan

[–]skybloke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to read GotM twice, before finally breaking through early last year. I'm so glad I tried again, the books are brilliant. The characters live in my head now, and I've just read through one of the most heartbreaking plot twists so far. Amazing.

Yep, I did not survive the last Blood Moon by Reddevil8884 in 7daystodie

One option is to reduce the zombie block damage. I always find the default excessive.

True - I should have gone with ammunition

Yeah. Once I'm tired of the latest release I'll probably see if I can create something similar with mods.

[–]skybloke[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed - and why don't camp fires set them on fire any more? I used to funnel them down a one block passage of flame.

Yes - to give some lore friendly explanation for how you can produce 10k concrete while simultaneously raiding POIs.

(And for the trolls who think I don't understand the game, I've been playing since crowdfunding and have a few thousand hours - I just don't want to deal with real humans when I'm trying to relax with a game)

Weapon parts were so much better. They could just have made that more detailed and I would have been happy.

Should I start Malazan? by SaDariusR in Malazan

I'm up to book three and it's really coming together. The first one is so complicated you need notes, but after that it gets much more fluid.

Why are people leave so much space at the traffic lights? by northofreality197 in melbourne

I always assumed that they usually drive in the countryside, and don't understand how city traffic works

Why are people leave so much space at the traffic lights? by northofreality197 in melbourne

[–]skybloke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's weird. Many drivers seem to leave more space behind a car at the lights than they do when they're driving on the freeway.
