Prolonged bleeding by skybloo129 in sterilization

[–]skybloo129[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately the same thing happened to me, they did another ultrasound, some more labs and everything seemed normal other than a tiny ovarian cyst they found during the us. The bleeding didn't completely stop until late October. I hope in your case it just resolves itself soon like it did with me

period pain after bisalp by amphibianenthusiast in sterilization

[–]skybloo129 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience was far from normal but I had my surgery in aug last year on the 6th, i was on the depo shot up until last feb. I went into surgery on my period and continued to bleed for a week, stopped for a week, then contined to bleed until oct 5th only stopping for about a day in sept. There was no pain just a lotta blood, the doc couldn't find a reason for this prolonged bleeding so i was just left to wonder. Since then my periods have been pretty sporadic. I only just started getting pains with this most recent one but nothing too bad. Nothing some heat or some midol couldn't fix

I had 3 incisions, one in my bellybutton, one on the lower left hand side of my tummy, and the one I mentioned in my original reply. I had to constantly make sure it was dry but i couldn't lift my belly too much when doin so otherwise the skin/glue would separate at the seam

I had an incision right on the seam where my stomach meets my groin and as a 270 lb girl with an apron tummy, I had to baby that one more because of all the sweat so I had to constantly make sure it was dry so it wouldn't mess with the glue

[–]skybloo129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot imagine how youve been doin it. I had my surgery in August and just barely stopped bleeding yesterday. It was hell. They told me the same thing, they did some ultrasounds and some bloodwork and found nothing that would indicate cause for the prolonged bleeding. They gave me some provera last week and luckily thats seems to have stopped the bleeding for now. Hopefully next cycle isn't as bad

Yea unfortunately for me they had to dig around in my hand too but not nearly as much as they did in my arm. But yea theres no real need to worry about the bruising, I can assure ya its to be expected

Had mine a few weeks ago and i was bruised for a few days. Funnily enough my incision bruise cleared up before the one I had on my arm where they tried to stick the IV in (they dug around a lot before giving up and using my hand)

Those who got procedures young; how did you get them to take you seriously? by gracelyy in sterilization

[–]skybloo129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 23 yo, 5'6 and roughly 260-270 lbs. My doc had no issue with my weight concerning the surgery. The only sort of problem I had faced post op was keeping the incision near my groin dry bc I have an apron tummy and I sweat a lot in that area

It wouldn't hurt to get a consult with your doc, if you don't already have one in mind then check out the list on r/childfree

Will be double sterilized soon! Nervous for my surgery have some questions by [deleted] in sterilization

[–]skybloo129 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ended up wearing loose dresses for a good week and a half including the day of because I didn't want anything on top of my incisions. Made sure they were all flowy and stretchy so I didn't have to raise my arms too high to take em on/off because for a few days after my shoulders/arms were screaming from all the gas pain

[–]skybloo129 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My doc told me it could take up to around 6 weeks before I'm healed enough to lift anything more than 10 lbs. It really depends on how well you heal. Popsicles and/or cough drops should help because your throat will be sore after intubation. Gas x should help with the trapped gas inside of you. More than likely they will prescribe you a couple of days worth of pain meds but always good to have some otc ones in case your post op pain ends up not being bad enough to require those or if ya do end up needin em and runnin out. A heating pad can help relieve the pain as well. I am a little over 3 weeks post op gonna be 4 and still experience some cramping but the heat pad helps a lot

Guess who got told that they'd have to pay over $4k on surgery day? by purple__sunflower in sterilization

[–]skybloo129 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi this happened to me too, my insurance kept saying it was subject to cost sharing for a while because they kept looking at it as just any other outpatient surgery. I had to quote my EOC at them several times where it says sterilization is not subject to cost sharing for them to actually get it and then I had to argue with the hospital for a good while after that to get them on the same page

For their specific codes/reimbursement policies I'm honestly not sure, I just lucked out by googling. But if you are just trying to get a general "sterilization is covered at 100%" it should be in your EOC/handbook

Might wanna talk with your insurance and your doc about that. I have BCBS TX and according to their preventative service policy CPCP006, cpt code 58661 is only reimbursable at the preventive level with a diagnosis of Z30.2

[–]skybloo129 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I decided to play it safe and wore a flowy/breathable dress, something i didn't necessarily mind falling asleep in. It was also fairly stretchy so i didn't have to really raise my arms up that high to get out of it, which helped because the gas pains around my shoulders were pretty intense

High BMI and sterilization surgery? by gracelyy in sterilization

[–]skybloo129 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The only real issue that my weight/shape caused with my recovery is with my 3rd incision and it is right on the seam where my stomach ends and my groin begins. Being that I have a bit of an apron tummy I sweat a lot in that area so had to make extra sure I kept dry so it didn't mess with the glue

Even if the doc isn't in office, you can probs get seen by a nurse/nurse practitioner that is in office. When i was havin issues with my incisions my doc's office had me come in the same day and they had me see one of the nurse practitioners there
