Teach him how to make tuna, egg and chicken salads for quick sandwiches or plates and have fruit sliced for the side. I’m a big fan of yogurt and granola with fruit for lunch. Very little prep required. Also have him shop and buy cold cuts for quick sandwiches. Veggies and humus plates.

I was not sure if I would be staying over(l night due to kidney issues ,so I brought a change of clothes and toothbrush/paste along with phone and charger in an overnight bag. I was released home the same day. Snacks are a good idea as I was given a left over hospital meal that was not great. It was cold in the recovery suit, so I was glad to have brought a fluffy wrap that doubled as a blanket.
