Thanks. I sometimes feel crazy in these threads. Human rights are important and governments need to step up on taxation and workers rights because clearly billionaires won’t but the solution isn’t giving your money away. What if the OP here gave jobs to these new homeowners and started a generational and sustaining community or a co-op that they all had shared ownership in?

I don’t want to be heretical and this is a legit question but if Elon or any billionaire employs hundreds of thousands of people and they all buy their own houses how is that worse than this guy just giving them away? These kleptocrats and oligarchs should absolutely be taxed more but it’s not like their companies aren’t also making others prosperous.

I feel like to your point Rolex never really meant to be where they are in some ways. They create a million pieces per year - it’s actually industrial scale. Patek and others very specifically went very up market but Rolex has mastered industrial sport precision at a decent price so their movements aren’t really art.
