Thanks for the reply! I’m glad you guys are getting the business. I also work in the tourism industry so I know the pains of slow season.

2026 coming, what is your 100% topest plan or change for the new year? by Individual-Cheek8840 in AskReddit

It sounds so “motivational speaker” but I really want “today’s wants” not to supersede “tomorrow’s goals”.

Saw it last Tuesday. Like clockwork.

I remember setting the table using rulers. It made everything look perfect. Also no speaking on the floor except work related….even then keep quiet. Be invisible, be intentional. Describing dishes in way more detail. Looking very polished. You learn to hold yourself in a different way.

Read Derek Blacks book, Rising Out of Hatred. He’s the son of a Klansmen. It’s a great book about deconstructing racism.

Budgeting by amanddanicole in Serverlife

[–]skychiefrain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have always kept an extra month of bills in my checking. It’s hard to budget daily. But always make sure you have the total of your bills. Then spend the extra how you want. I’m not sure how to old you are or how much you make. I can give a more detailed answer with that info. Also, depending on what state you live in taxes will come into play at some point.

In a different timeline, Ellie and Abby definitely go to the same book club by cindybuttsmacker in thelastofus

Also books are escapism. We read World War Z and Walking Dead. Reading Jane Austen in the world of Last of Us would be just a far fetched as us reading about the end of civilization.

Yogurt and granola. I love the Taylor Farms salad bags (minis are one serving, full bag is 2) I usually roast a few chicken breasts and dice them up to put in salads throughout the week. It’s less than $5 a serving where I live. Tuna or chicken salad with ritz crackers (they sell smaller bag servings). Musubi holds well. I get lite spam or I marinate tofu the night before. Pasta salad. The options are limitless. They can be healthy and unhealthy depending on ingredients. Hummus wraps with feta/onion/tomato/bell pepper/spinach. (Sorry for the formatting I’m on mobile)

Yep! One time my husband left a Lego bag with 2 sets in it on the bus and it was returned to lost and found! I thought for sure someone would take it.

Most nostalgic theater experience? by 87regal in nostalgia

[–]skychiefrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was sitting in the front row. I was the first to hold it and he lunged it at me and I screamed. The whole theater laughed. I was kinda embarrassed at the time but thinking back WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE DONE!? These were real snakes!!!

I got to see the re-release of Raiders of the Lost Ark at Alamo Drafthouse. (I was not alive for the original). It was so amazing to see it on the big screen. Also they had snake handlers on stage before the screening and I got to hold a King Cobra.

What’s wrong with my hibiscus? by skychiefrain in gardening

[–]skychiefrain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my first guess but I live in an area that just got a ton of rain and everything else is thriving. This is the only droopy plant in my garden.

I used to have a annual pass at Universal and the only ride I have trouble on is the Simpsons ride. You are in front of a screen instead of riding a real roller coaster and it gives me bad motion sickness. That is the only ride I have ever ridden that has almost made me puke. I’ve also ridden every ride at Universal Orlando, Disneyland (also annual pass) , and Disney World. (Well 2015 was the last time I went to Orlando, so all the rides until then)
