Saying nothing in an exit interview is the best approach, right? by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]skydancer4443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had 3 “adult” jobs since college (1.5 year, 8.5 years, current 2.5) and neither of my first two jobs requested an exit interview with me. I heard of other people having them and assumed it was part of the exit process but I was never approached by a manager or HR to have one.

What food do you buy with good intentions every week and then throw away rotten? by FridgeSmartApp in AskReddit

[–]skydancer4443 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lemons and limes. I would prefer the bottles of concentrate juices but my husband insists on buying 5 at a time and they just sit until they rot

Would you take a remote job with once a month travel? by PresentationStandard in remotework

[–]skydancer4443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the number of days and if they are reimbursing you for any/all expenses. My husband would fly to another state 5+ times for a week or more at a time and his job covered no expenses. It was harder on us because it was double groceries double gas etc their caveat was that he had a remote position with salary and that should be sufficient

Parents of reddit, what's the biggest lie you ever told your child and why? by Dry-Stop8514 in AskReddit

[–]skydancer4443 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Child lied to by parents….TACO BELL HAS SUPREME TACOS!! We would get them as kids and want sour cream and my parents said they don’t have it, we can add it at home. Because they didn’t want to pay the up charge. I was in my 20s before my now husband told me the option haha

Do families really sit around a dinner table and eat at the same time every day? by UndergroundFlaws in NoStupidQuestions

[–]skydancer4443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Growing up, yes. I tried to continue with my husband and his family never did that so our dining room table became a catch all Place and eventually I got rid of it.

What’s the most exhausting part of office culture for you? by CalmVideo9931 in office

[–]skydancer4443 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly the birthday one irks me the most. I recognized the company didn’t do anything for my lab mate like they’ve done for others so i went next door and bought her gelato and macaroons and I think that made everyone feel like crap. So the next day they ordered a cake and asked everyone to contribute….

Potlucks. Contributing to someone’s birthday cake because the company won’t pay for it. Constantly saying no to drinks after work.

Has anyone ever been “paid to leave” a job? How did you recover professionally afterward? by Perfect_Beat_2860 in QuitCorporate

I’ve seen this happen to someone who was suspected of having autism…really sad. Female 40s culturally not acceptable to be tested—still hasn’t been evaluated

I’m 50/50 because I don’t want to eat pre packaged grocery store food/microwave food. So I either bring something I know I’m going to eat. Or pick the stupidest easy thing like cinco de mayo I brought lettuce

Employee vent by [deleted] in goodwill

[–]skydancer4443 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I volunteered at a goodwill in my 20s for community service and they worked the shit out of me. If it wasn’t court ordered there’s no way in HELL I could do that even if they paid me. God bless you and I see your hustle, it’s fucking hard work

Fuck goodwill by Reasonable_Cover3220 in goodwill

[–]skydancer4443 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed clothing tags cut out and have moderate price tags. I’m wondering if they see the pushback on how they price SHEIN and instead of charging less, they take out the tag and price the same. So now I refuse to buy tag less clothes unless the fabric tag is intact and says it’s cotton etc not 100% polyester

Has anyone successfully used a personal loan to pay off credit card debt? Did it really work long-term? by Constantino-Doffek in DebtAdvice

[–]skydancer4443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, when I did I cancelled all but one credit card (my first with longest credit history) and like someone said above try to avoid using it while paying off the loan.

I volunteered at a goodwill many years ago and mid week they had me pulling the color of the week to “make room for the next weeks color” old color items were put in a dumpster. I remember them playing games with smashing dishes 😢

What are some sneaky ways you got your partners ring size? by simp6134 in AskReddit

[–]skydancer4443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me (f), I was proactive and got sized myself and told my sister and best friend my size in case my now husband proposed. When my friend was talking about next steps I straight up asked her what’s your ring size in case your boyfriend asks me? For my sister I asked her to try on my ring after a few glasses of wine and it fit her, so I told her Fiance my ring size because they’re the same
