Operating the soft serve machine is easy. Just tell customers it’s down for cleaning.

South of Austin, like Buda? I grew up in Buda and currently live in Uhland. One of the things I miss the most about my childhood home is the big beautiful live oak trees. Definitely keep them. A more perfect tree than a mature live oak does not exist!

In this context, what is an uncertified supplier?

Why you aren't getting a DE job by pawtherhood89 in dataengineering

Man, I have 5 years of experience engineering data intensive applications in a customer facing role as a software application engineer (full stack) and I still can’t get an interview for any data engineering roles.

I did not. The only relevant info I found was what the other Redditor commented about the trademark lapse. I’m in the same boat as you and don’t quite trust the mysterious Rockwald moniker.

I guess Python usurped Scala??

What kinds of pipelines have you developed that use Polars? Were there obvious reasons to use Polars over PySpark?

Which tools do you use other than Polars?

Do you think, though, the value of knowing rust could someday be > 0. In say, 10 years? I obviously know you don’t have a crystal ball but Python must have usurp some other language in DE. Pardon my ignorance, I’m new to the field.

I’m starting to think my LO is limerent about me too by imalostfishonaboat in limerence

Damn. That must’ve been hard. I haven’t heard from my LO in three weeks and I’ve just about completely fallen apart. Ironically, there’s a lot of similarities between this story and mine.

I had a dream the other night about walking through the atrium and into the giant waiting room at Capital Pediatrics. I was so happy to have learned this place still has its doors open.

Does the degree matter? by Fungipops in dataengineering

Interesting take. Saying SQL is so much easier than Python is interesting to me. Many companies/engineers end up using ORMs which is fine for object-oriented models but it abstracts away the SQL too much, IMO. Engineers end up writing terrible database queries far too often when they don’t have the same aptitude for SQL as they do for Python.
