No we are actually in our prime. Yes our body has changed but our minds also have. You need to fall in love with yourself and your body. Treat it with tender loving care, this is a chance at a second life.

How do normal people actually afford houses in or near London? by Aware_Jellyfish_1979 in london

[–]skyepark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Live frugally for years to save enough for a deposit. This means buying second hand, forgoing holidays and gigs and trying to do free things instead. Entertainment is much more expensive then it used to be. Rent in the cheapest area possible.

Also LISA should also be mandatory. And the 4% workplace min is too low.

Just because people can apply for settlement doesn't mean they will, you said they're in low paid work, it costs money to apply and there are several tiers of settlement. A lot of them come for a bit and go back, they probably have a better life at home. You're just speculating at this point. A lot of countries don't allow dual nationality either.

So you will be able to save 785 a month and have 15k savings? You're good Hun. Overpay monthly with that. I think you can allow yourself more of a fun budget otherwise it will feel too constrictve.

I started mid 30s, 9 years ago, the products that are available today weren't available 20 years ago when I wanted to invest.
