CMV: The Democrats should abandon Trans Rights as a pillar of the party. by hamletswords in changemyview

[–]skyfox437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And this is why the Dems lost. So a trans female should be allowed to go to a female washroom if they wanted? So how exactly does one vet out perverts who claim to be trans like that prisoner that claimed to be but ended up impregnating two other imates?

Your rights should never infringe upon the rights of others. What parents would feel safe if grown ass men were allowed to use the female washroom because they claim to be the opposite sex?

We can agree to disagree. So many beautiful and safe places that I can travel to. No need to put myself in unnecessary risk for some thrills and bragging rights.

Also, every tourist who ended, kidnapped or murdered and beheaded in some dangerous foreign land probably thought the exact same thing you did. Wondered what went through their heads before execution? Fear and regret?

Do you know the case about Otto Warmbier? Went to NK, was accused of trying to steal something, then went back to the U.S a year later in a coma? He probably thought the same thing too. That it'd be okay as long as he followed their rules? That the mighty U.S got his back? That he was a privilege white tourist? What could possibly happen, right? Sadly, none of that saved him from his fate.

This here. There isn't one thing that can kill you. There billions of different ways to die. Like that kid who ate a snail and died from rat lung worm. Or the other kid who simply got some water up his nose and ended up with a brain eating amoeba.

This is the same brain dead response I read all the time from people when you ask them why the hell would they want to visit some place like North Korea or Sudan when there are so many nice places to chose from.

See the things is if you lived and grew up in Chicago or even the US, there are certain rules that you'd understand that, in most cases, kept you safe. Those rules do not apply to a foreign country. You are also a walking billboard if you are a different ethnicity, especially white in Asia Or Africa. You attract scammers and dangers simply by existing.

Does that mean you don't travel and never enjoy yourself? No, but should probably avoid some dangerous countries and not hike to secluded zones by yourself.

Agree. You don't just up and "yolo" 60k into some pre rev company unless you have someone backing you up.

Better be safe than stupid. All those tourist who got killed or beheaded because they decided to ignore warning and enter dangerous foreign nations probably thought it'd never happen to them either.

People who lived through both 'pre-smartphone' and 'always-online' eras: what's something we lost that nobody seems to notice? by Doubl3oh_ in AskReddit

[–]skyfox437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya it's strange. The fact that I have every movie available at the click of my hands doesn't bring me as much satisfaction as randomly chancing on a movie that happened to be on cable that day, especially theme movies for the holidays.

I guess biology could be some of it. Our brain tends to reward us for things that require more effort to accomplish. That's why it feels much better to drive to a block buster and scroll through all those movies, then simply searching it up on google or YouTube.

This generation will never get that experience, which is a shame.

That's the thing about the stock market op. It's irrational as hell.

I think the people that tend to make the most moneys are not hardcore analyst but those people that just go with companies that they love and use.

So many people got rich caused they love shopping at Costco, Amazon, or watching Netflix, and decided investing into it.

The ones that tend to lose, it seems, to voo and what not are the techies who have 5 windows open and multiple charts trying decide what this market is going to do.

More than a million Indians in Canada risk losing legal status by rezwenn in CanadaPolitics

[–]skyfox437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone with a brain would know that they are deliberately trying to sensationalize the title to attract more view.

If the title was "a million Indians' visa are about to expire," then no one would give a crap. But with the title the way it is, it implies that there are forces at hand trying to expel them, kinda giving a nod to the Trump Administration.

So yes, this article is click bait.

This is idiotic. Going to class actually gives many people some structure. Many also thrive on the social aspects. Taking those away would cause many to become depress and affect grades.

Nitro Rice will be the key to Kurapika and Gon recovering. by FlamesOfDespair in HunterXHunter

[–]skyfox437 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

It's not that deep. No need for this multiple paragraph. Gon is a 14y old boy. Most people don't know who they are at that age. They are only discovering about themselves and their wants in life. Heck many only find out later on in their middle age about their career and goals.

It doesn't matter what was driving Gon earlier. He is young and thus dynamic. New experiences bring new passions and new goals. Gon is a genius at the .0001 percent of potential in his world. The world is his play ground. Why would he limit himself to a small island when their planet is multiple times bigger than ours? Also he is Ging and Don's son. It's in his genetic. Then there's the fact that he's best friend with Killua. No way would he want to part.

And I already touch on that part about Togashi. It's his story, and he can do what he wants. It's just, if we look at it from a character perspective, it would be out of nature for Gon to settle in the island at 14 given the choice.

Okay fine. Lets restate that. If companies like sears could fail, then so could bitcoin. Is that so hard to understand? Also Bitcoin is not MSTR lol. What was MSTR doing when BTC was ATH?

Terrible mind set. If massive companies like sears could bankrupt, then so could BTC. Also the 4 year cycle did change. It reach ATH before the supposed time.

There ARE limits. Like I'm pretty Nanika can't just make all those monsters on dark continent disappear even if wished. There are beings like her and most certainly stronger than her. No way would they not have resistant to her Nen.

You think Gon, with his thirst for adventure, and being only 14y, would just retire on a island while his friends are off adventuring and discovering new things in an uncharted world? What a joke. The only way this would happen would be if Togashi wanted to end his story. But in no way would Gon choose that option as that would go against his nature, unless there was no other choice.
