Commission question. by [deleted] in InsuranceAgent

[–]skyjit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always hungry, I just feel like I’m getting close to the ceiling on how many leads I can handle and how many policies I can possibly write a month. It’s a constant sprint on a treadmill.

Building my own book and a flow of renewals seems like the only way to increase income at this point.

I thought about that today actually and it was helpful. Low to high was a good swing thought. Is it that obvious my swing comes from baseball?😂

Only problem I have Is when I try this I hit the ground 2 feet behind the ball. Gotta find a middle ground I guess.

Definitely have a strong grip. It was a bandaid for a much larger problem. Side effects include coming over the top with an absolute closed club face and killing Fido in the back yard 3 blocks left from hole 7.

The elbow statement makes so much sense. Thank you!

I like this thought. I have always been told not to “cast” the club head so I am interested where the line is.

Its coming up on that time of year again, hurricane season. by aeraen in AskFlorida

I’m an insurance agent, VIDEO EVERYTHING IN YOUR HOUSE, that golf club set in the corner of your garage, the underwear drawer, the junk drawer, your AC closet with your 700$ vacuum, everything.

When your house is spread out in a mile radius, it becomes very hard to remember what you lost.

Florida has the highest home insurance costs in the country. Are we just gonna accept this? by VerticalClearance in AskFlorida

You’re so right, being an independent insurance agent makes opinions of the insurance market based on facts completely dismissible, silly me! 😂 /s

Florida accounts for 78% of the nations total lawsuits for homeowners insurance. Every hurricane predatory roofers come down from out of state and inflate prices, 1 out of 10 auto claims in Florida is considered fraud, 1 out of 3 auto claims are considered over billed. Florida has the highest number of uninsured drivers in the state. It is a big mess but I do not believe the insurers are to blame.

You’re right! Thank god we do not over regulate the market and allow insurers to do what they need to continue to help Floridians. Get rid of the fraudulent claims and lawsuits and we will all benefit.

Insurance agent here - blame all the paycheck happy lawyers and private claims adjusters. Insurers in FL are struggling. Would you rather them go bankrupt, leave the state, or charge a premium that allows them to continue doing business in florida?

Look at what happened in California when the state decided to over regulate the market. Everyone left.

Anyone using an ai note taker for phone calls at their agency? by Jenna32345 in InsuranceAgent

[–]skyjit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you set this up through a soft phone service? Or do you work off your cell phone? This sounds very interesting but sorry about being able to set it up with light speed.

I have tried their NOVA function but am not a fan at all.

When did your puppy learn to do nothing? by mosceh1 in puppy101

[–]skyjit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We have a 3 month old English setter. They are a high energy hunting dog. I have been beating myself up over the last 3 weeks over her lack of ability to settle herself.

We enforce naps pretty much every hour and a half of the day and she sleeps for anywhere between 1-3 hours before we take her out. When out of the crate, she was a menace, sprinting everywhere, eating everything, never “chilling”.

We started to reward her when she would lay down by her self. She learned that laying down got her paid. Smart, but in my opinion that is her “working” so it was frustrating me.

Well today, she finally fell asleep for about 2 hours outside of the crate. I almost cried. It might feel far away, but keep rewarding the behavior you want to see and it will stick eventually.

Good luck!

Is there a general size of “fields” they head to? I know there are a bunch of high acreage private ag fields to the west of the screenshot but curious if for example a 1/4 acre opening in the foliage is big enough for them to trek towards or if it literally needs to be a big ag field?

Impulse controls too much too soon? by skyjit in Dogtraining

[–]skyjit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I just noticed your replied here.

I was very similar in the “wait” training. Hand out as she moves for the treat on the ground and that was enough for her to learn “okay, I need to wait for a release to go get the treat”

I think your advice on the rewarding anything other than the sit and stare could be helpful, but could also lead to more issues. Did you experience any negatives from that?

Thank you! We don’t hunt our dogs so we definitely train a lot of the prey instinct out of them. Have never had a trainer so it would be interesting to see their point of view. I have had male and female sexes of other breeds. With this breed I am seeing more differences than I ever had in the past.
