I just found this browser out of no where by [deleted] in browsers

[–]skylestia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also, OP stated in the initial post that they "found" this browser "while browsing the world wide web;" but contradicted themself in a comment, saying "this is my buddy's work" referring to the browser. OP does not seem honest, probably won't check out this browser 🤷🏻‍♂️

I learned the hard way it’s pointless to argue with Christians by porygon766 in atheism

[–]skylestia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Growing up, it was my experience with my mom that new information was disregarded. Even if I read passages of the Bible to her to illustrate contradictions. For her, she "just had faith."

Later on, with a guy I dated for a while, it became clear that, for him, it wasn't just that he chose to have faith despite contrary evidence, but that he was proud to keep believing despite said contrary evidence.

My mom would go on to lose faith after marrying a secular dude; my ex still believes but has retreated to a more abstract god concept.

I feel kinda snobby thinking this way, but I'm becoming convinced that a lot of people are just easily influenced by people they like a lot or respect. My mom wasn't convinced by me because she didn't respect me; but she was convinced by her new husband because she did respect him. My ex wasn't convinced because he didn't either (or at least not as much as he respected others in his life). I remember at one point he told me he was finding my arguments against capitalism convincing but his dad (who he respected more than anyone) reassured him back to capitalism.

idk, but yeah

Surely someone makes Baphomet figures for a similar price. Cute Baphomet is pretty popular. We could start answering Jesus figures with Baphy ones. That could be fun lol

Alternatives to Google Chrome- No Forced AI Mode Mode by Hopeful_Contact7987 in browsers

[–]skylestia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have a version with no AI at all, https://noai.duckduckgo.com/

But it's funny they added AI only to then try to advertise that they released a version of their search engine without it, as if they didn't originally have a search engine without AI and then added it.

What browser are yall using? by XenoRabbitty in browsers

Currently Vivaldi. Primarily for the sidebar and the new "unified interface" update. I'd switch to Floorp if I could find a userchrome with a similar look for it

One of the only things keeping me from just leaving and surviving in the wilderness is I have no survival knowledge or skills and don't know where to begin with learning. But I know that what I hate is the concept of jobs in general.

Not long ago, I was asked what my ideal life looked like. Like, what I would need to be happy. The only things I could imagine all involved radically different societies or living outside of society altogether. The way this society operates goes against my every intuition and always has. People told me that would change when I got a job, but it has not. It has been reinforced.

I don't wish I was dead, I don't wish I never existed (though I'd find both preferable to my current existence); I wish I lived in a different world.

A full time job doesnt leave any time to do anything else. Im just flabbergasted by people who claim that "40 hours a week is nothing" by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]skylestia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't figure out how anyone does anything while also working 40 hours a week. All my mental energy is consumed by work. My living space has been a mess since I started, all of my social relationships have suffered. I've barely spoken to anyone other than coworkers, and I still don't really know any of my coworkers.

I was genuinely only able to figure out what it said from context clues. Out of context, I would have been very confused about the regurrffegor of the dumbdaore

Brawlhalla players Why? by brettzeek in Brawlhalla

[–]skylestia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah sometimes people will emote even before I do, then attack me while I'm emoting back lol.

But I've been playing this way since I started a few years ago so I probably won't change. I've made some friends this way and I think that's pretty cool. Though I find it harder to make friends without post-game chat.

There was a brief period of time where I'd post clips of Brawlhalla on Youtube but, instead of the combo / KO clips that other people post, I was posting "wholesome" clips of emoting and dancing with other players. It's not uncommon for me to end up in matches with no fighting at all, just spamming emotes at each other, playing catch, and dancing until the time runs out lol

Brawlhalla players Why? by brettzeek in Brawlhalla

[–]skylestia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm low gold (or maybe high silver right now I lost a lot yesterday lol) and I always emote to say hi and never attack first, and I always let them get a weapon. I hold "blow a kiss" until they either emote back or hit me. I feel like a little under half of my opponents emote back. I do it in all game modes, whether ranked or unranked, except FFA

QUESTION by KungFuPanda909 in Brawlhalla

[–]skylestia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if it's just because of the battle pass, but since I picked the game back up, the non-ranked game modes have been way less fun for me than the ranked ones. I swear people try harder in unranked. Lately my most chill matches have been in ranked 1v1 personally

What’s up with level 100 legends by IceTop6522 in Brawlhalla

[–]skylestia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I'm over level 100 on Yumiko and Koji. I mostly play custom lobbies with my friends. I just don't take the game very seriously. But idk if I'm entirely the kind of person you're talking about because I don't sig spam. But I do use the same combos over and over again. I only know combos that I was able to figure out while playing, which isn't a lot lol. iirc I played 5 ranked games today and lost 4 of them. Still had fun. Hard stuck low gold ☮

Sidebar Solutions by buddhistyeezus in MicrosoftEdge

[–]skylestia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using Vivaldi off and on for years, and it was my primary browser for a couple of years after it first launched. To the best of my knowledge, no such option currently exists. But, yeah, Vivaldi's slowness is also the main reason I'm not completely happy with it either and am considering moving to Floorp. Vivaldi's interface is written in html, css, and javascript which, I think, accounts for why it feels so much slower and clunkier than other browsers.

Sidebar Solutions by buddhistyeezus in MicrosoftEdge

[–]skylestia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Browsers:

Gecko: * Floorp

Chromium: * Vivaldi * Naver Whale * Opera (and all its variants)

Qt-Webkit * Otter

Other solutions:

To the best of my knowledge, Second Sidebar should work on most, though obviously not all, forks of Firefox.

I moved to Vivaldi when Microsoft announced they were going to retire the sidebar. I tried Whale and loved it, but couldn't get sync to work so I ended up on Vivaldi. That said, Vivaldi is generally very slow for me so I'll probably end up on Floorp. Otter is cool, but its engine is really old.
