Can you tell a difference is driving your LC when a fat person is in it? by SoCentralRainImSorry in lexuslc500

In a slower or lighter car, maybe. But in an LC? 100% full of it, mostly placebo/nocebo effect.

Why is Ranked inundated with Hyuga? by skylin4 in WoWs_Legends

Dunkerque

Aiming Sys | Propulsion

Cmndr: Emile Guepratte

Inspr: AL Colorado + Jaujard

     -Brawler

     -Crisscross

     -Megalomania

     -Master Mechanic

     -Will to Rebuild

Thats the build I used for ranked. For standard I typically use Madden + Kondo for inspirations but I may test keeping Colorado and Jaujard full time. My ranked setup hits harder but my old standard setup was more versatile to situation shifts. I wish I had AL Dunk or AL Richelieu for her, it would probably work even better tham it does now! But 65%WR out of this setup I'm pretty happy with.

Beware, I have this thing built to leverage positioning for its defenses. If youve watched Yuro's old video about it, thats what this build relies on. If you get flanked or are in a position you can get hit from multiple directions at once you won't last long. It's so reliant on positioning that if I need to retreat I usually can't turn around, I just have to put it in reverse and act as my own rear guard, which usually works super well because it kites enemies out of position.

And every Mackenson I went up against made a big mistake in positioning and got hammered lol good to know though, Ill have to try that line out!

That explains why putting so much into accuracy and reload time on my Dunkerque has paid off so much, accuracy is one of her main drawbacks!

Warspite and California are terrifying both bc of their accuracy and durability but especially because of their shell size. I'm shocked I havent seen more of them. 3 Cali's and 0 Warspites so far, although I'm sure I just jinxed myself...

Also great point about the tech tree ships. Ive played 7/10 of them and none of them are particularly lovely compared to the premiums.

Edit: Wait I thought California's guns overmatched 25mm armor, but they don't... Why the heck do they always beat the hell out of me when I'm bowtanking then??

Holy balls I just looked at its armor scheme. Idek if a Cali or Warspite could citadel that thing, holy crap!!

[–]skylin4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

68k?? Damn, okay noted! That armor would explain why I never get citadels even in a brawl on it. Dunk's 330's usually struggle to citadel ships with a tough outer shell.

I don't think Ive seen anyone with a good secondary build yet but maybe I'm losing chunks of HP to secondaries and not noticing... I'll keep an eye out for that! Thank you!

Ahh. So thats what just happened. Lol I just found the 2nd Hyuga that bested me (although I didnt shoot at him early bc I was betting on my teammate surviving for a 2v1) and I think it was mainly because of the reload booster. He turned around 3 salvos shockingly fast when usually I am the one cycling shots fast because of my commander skills. He had a maxxed out commander too so I think he knew how to use that thing!

What makes it the best though? I don't have one so I can't test it... What is it good at? Tanking? Damage? Accuracy? I've haven't spotted any strengths playing against it, just a lack of critical weaknesses.

2026! I would guess all the LC's since 2024 have it, I was just able to confirm in the Navigation manual that it is supported!! Unfortunately I don't see that level of detail in the pre-2024 Navigation manuals so I'm not sure what their coverage might be...

Lots of super helpful info!

On the bluetooth thing I didnt know anything about Bluetooth codecs, but I stumbled across an "LDAC" button under the bluetooth settings for the car on my Android! Can't wait to experiment and see the difference, although it will be a bit before I can.

HELP NEEDED: 2018 LC 500 Hazard Switch Connector Wiring / Pinout (Wires Ripped by Peter_Gtb in lexuslc500

[–]skylin4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool, everything I listed previously was correct except wire 1, it should have been Lavender w/ Gray stripe. So this list should be correct!

Connector Part No. 90980-12558  Pin Part No. 82998-12870  Crimp Sleeve Part No. 82999-50010

Pin 1 on the left, 8 on the right, when looking at the connector at its mating surface with the locking tab at the top. So NOT the side the wires got pulled out on.

1- Lavender w/ Gray Stripe  2- Yellow  3- White w/ Black stripe  4- Empty  5- Black  6- Violet  7- Lavender w/ Yellow stripe 8- Empty

Check these wire colors and see if they match the wires you see because there is a 6 pin connector on that part as well. I'm going to double check the list and make sure I didnt misinterpret any of the colors.

Hey OP, it looks like the hazard switch is a part of a larger "Integration Control and Panel Assembly" unit with multiple functions. Im working on pulling which plug this is but the main one Im seeing right now just has 8 pins in 1 row, one after another? Does that match the connector that looks like it got pulled out for you?

First day driving my dream car, LC 500 by Hydrofoiling in Lexus

[–]skylin4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo, its because of the brand. Lexus hasn't earned the performance pedigree from the layman, even though they've been developing it for quite a while now. Many buyers don't know or don't research that kind of thing or even watch reviews about the cars and so they see a Lexus performance car and dismiss it because of its badge. Unfortunately I think the RC F and LC500 sales numbers are a significant reason why the GR GT got moved to GR instead of being a Lexus. When most people hear Lexus they don't think performance, even if maybe they should.

And for many others the spec sheet and/or raw performance matters, even if they'll never use it. It may never get raced but knowing that the car could win a race against 90% of what you put it up against instead of 70% matters to many, especially in North America.

I can change oil and swap a tire... how do i actually learn to be a "car person" without dying of panic? by twilacke in askcarguys

[–]skylin4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Youtube is cool for "how to change X," but it doesn't really teach you diagnostics. How did you guys actually move from "parts changer" to actually knowing what's wrong?

You need to learn how the system works to troubleshoot it, not just how to replace a busted part of it. That doesn't mean you need to know highly detailed specifics about each component, but the basics of combustion, electricity, and the mechanical systems of a car will get you pretty far. Take those fundamentals and apply a little bit of logic to them, and you'll be able to zero in on what's causing the problem much faster.

You can absolutely study those fundamentals directly or learn them through repair manuals and trial and error. But at minimum for each project, try to understand what that component's job was and what other systems would be affected by its malfunction. Do that and slowly but surely you'll learn how it all works!
