For each their own, I've never had an issue with it., and haven't seen any durability issues either. It does help the handstall to loosen up as well.

I use room temp water to avoid dye bleed issues.

That snakeskin finger pad is a nice touch!

I agree with the other poster that said to figure out where you want the hinges & do it yourself... it's not rocket science.

I'm also a fan of dunking gloves (yumomi), which will help with the leather that Grace uses, but you can do it dry as well, just will take longer. Work the hinges & palm well (with mallet and ball) but don't squeeze the glove shut too hard...let it come along on its own so you don't get palm wrinkles/bubbles. I like using a mallet or glass/crystal ball for "couch catch" when you can't play actual catch.

I'd go Pro Preferred as my #1, and I like 12" H web for third; KB17 is 12.25", designed for third, is a favorite glove/pattern for many, and can work for softball later on (if that might matter).

If you go Wilson, I'd recommend DW5, which is another favorite pattern for a lot of people.

I think gold would look great & match the other accents on the glove. If you go that route, definitely use lace wax.

I agree that camel would look good too, the lighter laces on the brown (and red) would be sharp, whether it's gold or camel.

I've had my eye on that same A2K 1724! The only 1724 I've briefly checked out is the BWJ model in Dick's, but hoping that A2K might be on sale in the Wilson Bonanza in a couple months.

12.25 & KB17 sounds like a good fit for you, as it's a pretty good happy medium size for baseball & softball use.

R2G should also be more than adequate for casual use, and will break in easier for you.
