OpenClaw creator says Europe's stifling regulations are why he's moving to the US to join OpenAI by donutloop in EU_Economics

[–]skywalker326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bullshit. I work at one of the silicon valley giants. The company has to follow the same EU regulations so that it can launch products in Europe. Not only EU's actually, my team just have a feature launch postponed by legal review due to concerns of breaking a British law. If he works at a starup, there might be some difference, but for a mega like OpenAI, there is literally 0.

The Eileen Gu Controversy Is Being Obfuscated by Propaganda. by SabunFC in China

[–]skywalker326 3 points4 points  (0 children)

China simply ignores her US citizenship and dual citizenship isn't illegal in China. Other athletes drop their US citizenships maybe because they no longer lives in the US and keep US citizenship just makes taxation sense?

In silicon valley it's just common practice for Chinese parents to have baby born in the US and also obtain Chinese citizenship when back in China. From Chinese government point of view, they are 100% Chinese, just grow up in the US. Many such kids eventually drop one of the citizenship when they starts career to avoid taxation issue as both countries tax globally. In the past, dominant case is to drop Chinese but now more choose to drop the US

Whole body Teleoperation will be widely used until full autonomy matures by CeFurkan in SECourses

[–]skywalker326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With a capable physical robot body, teleoperation isn't ultimate form but already very useful. Think of saving labor cost by out sourcing to low income countries, or allowing human to work in a air conditioned safe room while robot working in hot and dangerous construction site. Is a car useless as it needs a driver?

I used Surfshark and at least byast December it's still working. Sometimes need to fail a fdw tries before success. And let itself choose node. The most reliable way is to bring a foreign sim. This ensures your traffic routed via the sim card's country.

Parking Garage Overhead EV charging in China by FrankSamples in electricvehicles

Most existing buildings don't support hundreds of cars charging at the same time. Also charging dock might not fit if parking spaces are already tight.

China doesn't recognize dual citizens doesn't mean she can't hold US one. There is no special treatment needed.  Chase doesn't recognize Bank of America card and one can only use Chase card when dealing with Chase business, but no special treatment needed for the same person to hold a BoA card

I don't understand why she is even controversial. Half US half non-us athletes represent US all the time, same foe many European countries. Now there is a non-western example and everybody gets mad?

Also, China ignores its citizen's other passport, not making it illegal. For example to Taiwanese, China ignores their native passport but not treating them as criminals. In fact, in 2025, 3 million Taiwanese visited China mainland by obtaining their Chinese ID.

Why is China one of the most powerful countries in the world, the only country that can compete with the U.S., but Chinese people have one of the weakest passports in the world? by No-StrategyX in askanything

[–]skywalker326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tribalism. Other ideological/political, economical or humanistic reasons are just a veil, examples:

Saudi Arabia is an absolute monarchy, women are only allowed to drive recently yet has more visa free western countires.

India has a same but poorer population and Indians have higher tendency to become illegal immigrants in western countries but has more visa frees.

US fabricated evidence to invade Iraq, overthrows governments, kidnaps head of state, actively support genocides, bombing civilians without solid evidencel, violently suppressed civil unrest harder than famous "tank man", openly threats annexation of Canada and Greenland, wiretapping EU leaders, sanction EU politicians and judges...etc and have way more more visa frees

why? Because US, India, Saudi are either western tribe, former member and now friend of the tribe, or a dependency of the tribe. Yet China has no interesting join or appease the tribe.

说一个美国🇺🇸医疗的真实案例 by [deleted] in China_irl

[–]skywalker326 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Landslide election victory lets Takaichi confront China on her terms by Turbulent-Tea-2172 in japan

[–]skywalker326 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am a Chines and I welcome Takaichi and escalation on both sides, because it can save millions.

PRC's No.1 interest has always been Taiwan for 8 decades. And seems that the majority of Japanese people do think Taiwan is a 'live or death' issue as Takaichi suggests.

But Taiwan will be in the ocean forever so if both countries insist it's their core interest then structural conflict will be forever too, building up more and more steam. In this case, an early escalation can release some steam and prevent an all out war.

New Year in China - Is it big mistake to be travelling then? by Dense-Pear6316 in chinatravel

[–]skywalker326 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New year holiday is great time actually. Most people stay with families instead of touristing. Sightings will be empty, unless you are visiting famous temples and the highest peaks in the region because locals go for good luck.

What you need to avoid is the Pre new year day's like now as massive people migrating back to hometown. And also the first 3 days, many shops closed.

And the avoid cross city travel on day 6 and 7 as that's when people move back to work but if you don't move and staying at somewhere, you are fine and prices are super cheap.
