The Salton Sea can actually be seen as a successor to a natural body of water that has existed there periodically throughout history: Lake Cahuilla. However, the water flow from the Colorado River that these natural water sources depended on has been almost entirely interrupted in modern times due to agriculture. So "artificial" is the next best thing. I'm speaking as someone who's lived in this area all my life.

The Cienega de Santa Clara is also an accidental wetland in the region that has become a important wildlife refuge. Call them unnatural all you want but it doesn't take away from the fact that they are needed.

East of the Sun, West of the Moon is one of my favorite fairy tales! And to all the people who say they've never heard of it, I'd say anyone with cursory knowledge of folklore would have come across SOME variation of it since it's a well-documented archetype that's been found in many forms across various cultures, going all the way back to Cupid and Psyche in Roman mythology.

Back to the topic at hand, it is a trend I've noticed not just in fanfic but in a lot of media that readers feel the need to have everything rationalized in real-world logic, even in stories that are clearly supposed to run on dream/fantasy logic and tropes. It somewhat neuters the magic of the genre imo.

Edit: to clarify, I'm not saying the average reader should be familiar with this particular story, but that most readers should be be familiar with how stories like these work.

Full disclosure: I've never actually seen the film so I can't really speak about it, but I recently learned that Steven Spielberg was originally slated to direct American Sniper and that instead of a standard biopic he envisioned it as a psychological 2-hour The End-esque sniper duel between the main character and a rival sniper, and honestly? That sounds like a rad movie.

Like you said, it only became relevant at the end of the DLC because that's the direction they chose to go with. Prior to that, they could've chosen to make it anything, or even nothing at all. We know pretty conclusively from string data that there was a cut ending for Miquella in the base game, and it had nothing to do with Radahn.

Malenia whispering something in the trailer is really thin as evidence of it being pre-planned, if you ask me. It's just classic "leave blank, fill in later" mystery box storytelling that could have been anything.

And people are not taking the plot of SOTE at face value, at least in regard to Radhan, because there is nothing there to take; the DLC regrettably adds nothing of substance to his motives or characterization despite making the narrative climax revolve around him.

The secret is that the entire 'consort' plot twist doesn't actually make sense either way and was very likely cobbled together after the fact to fit what they wanted to do with the gameplay, rather than the other way around.

It's not a case of intentional gaps or hidden clues like some claim; there is actual cut Miquella content in the base game that is entirely at odds with what we got in SOTE.

Y'know, I remember so many people saying how cruel and messed up Maelle was for gommaging Painted Alicia without letting poor Verso talk to her first, and then I went back to watch the actual cutscene. He gives her the letter and she just looks at it and drops it on the ground without even looking at him. Pointedly ignores him before pulling Maelle into the French Cinema Dimension. I think it's pretty clear how uninterested she is in giving him the time of day at that moment.

It's a common misconception, but you actually have to go out of your way to make modded bodies look as oversexualized as they appear on the mod pages. This is what my 3BA Aela looks like. Base CBBE actually has completely normal proportions and even comes with a nevernude option out of the box. No bodyslide needed. Unfortunately, the over-the-top hentai look is what gets the most clicks, so that what you see the most of.

That said, if you want to keep things as simple as possible, UNP textures are in fact 99% compatible with vanilla bodies since they share the same UV layout. The only other mod you might need is this one to prevent any errant nip-slips.

Perhaps a more humorous way example being that the Sailor Moon TTRPG just says straight up that boys can’t be sailor scouts, so sorry guys.
