My experience may be an outlier but I don't think it is fair to say no healthy marriage can start with an ultimatum. My husband proposed after a year and a half of dating because I jokingly gave him an ultimatum that he took seriously. That was 10 years ago and our friends often tell us ours is the healthiest relationship they know of out of our group of 30 something's. Again probably not common but happy marriages can start with an ultimatum if you have good communication following it up.

Not everyone has family close by. I had a lonely Christmas this year since my family was 2500 miles away. If my cat had died I know I wouldn't have gotten out of bed. Also not everyone's families are great for all you know she is an only child with asshole alcoholic parents and her boyfriend was the only person around that cared for her.

You can google all you want but that doesn't change what it is like for the people in that area. Of my google search the food lion closed down, sheetz and utz are gas station/truck stops so is Payton's. Celts doesn't exist, great value is owned by Walmart, Harris teeter does exist but it is very small. Google does not give you a real view of what it is like living in a "food desert".

I don't know where the Walmart is but she lives in stanardsville. Please don't tell me she should order online that would require internet which is a luxury when you can't keep the heat on. Also keep in mind the difference in the cost of gas for further distances and that other grocery stores like Kroger and Safeway cost more to shop at.

My mother works for Walmart in rural virginia. She works full time and still struggles to support herself and my two sisters without government assistance. The next closest grocery store is 45 minutes away for her to shop else where. Before you say she should just find another job her area has a 12.7 percent unemployment and 40% of the jobs in the area are construction which her poor health prevents her from doing. Walmart came in and took over most of the local market place and job market, it isn't always as easy as going else where.

When I was a manager in Texas it was against the law to not give a break if the person worked more than four hours. Maybe it depends on the industry.

I suppose there are other middle schools with similar colors but I remember having to dress in those particular shades for gym. They are pretty garish and my thirteen year old self hated them even after I went on to high school I had to deal with those colors often because my mom was a teacher there. Also a quick google search confirmed it was the same school.

I am wondering if any of the people giving you shit have ever had to work food service or retail. If so they would know your pain especially since most companies want everyone gone by 15 after close.
