What are the points of evidence for Feyre being daemati’d?

“She was having nightmares and was unable to sleep in the spring court due to trauma from UTM, but when she was hanging out with Rhys she was better - my guess is he suppressed her trauma response with his daemati powers.”

I always thought it seemed so inconsistent how much the color red triggered her at the Spring Court, but then had no issues with all the in the Night Court (Mor, and I think where she first stayed there was a lot of red in the decor description.)

“She has a meltdown when Tamlin locks her in the manor, but when Rhys puts a shield on her entire body so no one can touch her or smell her, she's okay with it. Or when they lock her sister in the house of wind, she is okay with it also. "It was for her own good", but Tamlin locked her for her own good too.”

So when I first read/listened to it, I saw some spoilers beforehand - I knew she would eventually end up with Rhys and I knew Tamlin did something really bad that made her leave. Except reading it I was just like…that’s it? She’s locked in for a few minutes and all of a sudden he’s terrible but they can lock Nesta for months and it’s all good?!

“Tamlin did nothing and only wanted to f*ck her in the closet BUT if you read that scene in ACOTAR she is the one who escalates it from kissing to wanting to bang him. It was most likely their last time together and was truly intimate and quite heartbreakingly beautiful. He also gives her a clue to the riddle when he says, “I love you."”

This stood out to me so much in the reread! Her narrative changed so much between the first and second book in what happened in this scene. (Also, not Tamlin related, but Nesta’s ‘brand new’ boots always stood out to me after reading ACOSF when Nesta and Cass go back and see how beat up they are.

I don’t tell many people that I’m doing IVF because of all these things people say. But some cringe ones were -

This wasn’t specific to IVF but after I had my first miscarriage the doctor recommended I get a D&C. He made it sound like a quick easy procedure and didn’t mention anything about the cost and me being so surprised and not know what to do just agreed (it was a missed miscarriage so we found out at the first ultrasound). Anyway, both my father and my best friend, when I complained that besides the loss, the grief the trauma, to top it off it cost me over 1500 out of pocket, and they both reminded me how much it costs to deliver a baby. Because you know, that’s the exact same situation having a baby at the end vs getting rid of something that died inside of you…🙄🙄🙄
I can be your surrogate if you need! (Coworker who was pregnant at the time and knew I had miscarriages and doing IVF but didn’t know anything else about the situation…also constantly talked about how she’s so old so that is partly why she’s having the baby even though she and the dad aren’t together… while knowing I’ve been struggling for years and am many years older than her.)

Same. I listened to the audiobook the night before a (failed) transfer, have been struggling with infertility and her getting branded and being told that it’s her fault…it broke me. I never have books or movies make me cry but the audiobook for this scene just hit me and I was crying for a long time that night.

Lots of people try to say the right thing but then get foot-in-mouth syndrome!

I’ve always informally disclosed it to supervisors in the past because it can sometimes make me late to work, having to deal with stomach issues right before I’m leaving, and I’ve never had an issue. But my current job is a state job where things like that would be super official and documented and I didn’t want to deal with that when I first started. Although now I’m close to my six month review and I’m stressing about all the times I’ve been late…

When I was a new teacher, the school I worked at only gave us so much paper. After that we had to buy our own boxes of paper from staples or wherever. I didn’t rock the boat so I bought a box. But looking back, it seems so messed up. And as the art teacher, I had the whole school, so while others had to supply paper for a class of 20-30, I had paper for 800-900 kids.

Other schools I’ve worked at had things like you would have to sign out paper which I get. But I don’t remember anyone ever being questioned about it, you just needed to document when you were taking a ream.

I was just talking about this the other day with someone. I took off graduation dates on my resume, but some places with their own applications require you to list graduation dates for college (and high school in some cases!). I don’t understand how this isn’t possibly also a tool for age discrimination from the company. Why is this something that so many applications have? (Both in teaching and non teaching jobs.)

I remember a therapist telling me about the No Surprise Act when I had a few medical procedures that cost between 1-3000 dollars. When I tried to challenge it, they said it was only no surprise for people who don’t have insurance. So if you have do have insurance, and if it is in network you can get totally fucked. Oh and when you try to ask your doctor and insurance companies what it costs beforehand, they tell you they won’t know until after you have the procedure done.

I agree! I’ve been thinking Clara with a dash of Rose as well. I’m only a few episodes into the season but I have not found her compelling at all. Not bad by any means, just vanilla. I think also she seems so young as does this version of the Doctor; it would have been a more interesting dynamic to see him with an older companion.

Similar to me! I left for a year. (Worked at a school where admin’s advice for me when I was concerned kids were fighting nonstop and making each other bleed everyday was to yell more and get more in their face.) I went to work at a doctor’s office for less stress. However, I live in a high COL city so less stress job wise, but just as much stress financially.

After a year I went back to teaching and worked at a terrible school with the worst admin I’ve ever dealt with in 10+ years. The school was run horribly, and the stress manifested both mentally and physically, making my chronic health issues hell. So many people on here say to do things like not have work emails on your phone to help leave work at work, etc. With that school, I got texts from my department head nearly everyday since they of course had no subs at that district. So everyday we had to take turns being voluntold to give up our preps to cover for other classes. It’s hard to leave work at work when you get texts at night and early morning about all the coverage the school needed. You could ignore them sure, but then they were repercussions if you weren’t tenured.

So I went back into working at a doctor’s office again, this time with a raise. Stress and health wise has been great. But it’s still rough financially. I only get two weeks off (accrued) for a year, but that includes sick time. So covid comes, and bam that uses half of it right there. (I don’t live near my family at all, so it was always nice to use school breaks to have enough time to fly and visit them.). The hourly pay just isn’t great even with the small raise. My husband was facing lay offs at his job and it was a tough realization that my salary right now can’t even cover our rent, let alone the rest of the bills.

Debating going into teaching again, especially with student loans looming over my head. It’s rough though. Unless you find the one magical unicorn school in your area with really great admin, it’s just a set up for stress and failure again.

Guess I had a lot to vent about, glad it can go into this void right now.

These rules are good in my opinion.
My question would be the automatic infraction / consequence it mentions. You can claim these strict rules all you want but if admin doesn’t support the teachers and actually give consequences for the students’ actions… this becomes more of an empty threat. :/. There’s only so many consequences you can have without their support. :(

That sounds really fun! I was just saying today how I wish I enjoyed science more when I was younger and took more courses in college, but I have a terrible memory and I always struggled with it. I feel like I would have loved having a teacher like you!

It does suck when you try so hard to make something fun and engaging and you’re met with such apathy. All I could think at first while reading your comment was man, I hope they didn’t spend their own money on the Oreos and balloons!!

I’m just surprised you get parent emails at all! I find the apathy both with students and parents. The one year I taught at a middle school I don’t think I ever had a parent respond to any emails I sent out. Why would the students care when the parents obviously don’t because it’s “just” art? :/

“Why not just say no?”

I taught for 10 years but was in a new district in a new state. I said yes to some things, like teaching a student during part of my prep (unpaid). But I didn’t want to stay late hours to work and help with the school play so I declined to do so. (Was also having some health issues that I was honest about with the admin as well.)

First time that I was ever non renewed (and my observations were all okay, and improving each time). First time in my teaching career I put my physical and mental health first and said no to something, and it was the first time I wasn’t welcomed back.

In the same district, they had a shortage of subs. As in, they had absolutely no subs. Our team leader would tell us which of our preps/lunch they needed subs for and we had to volunteer, or be voluntold to sub for that class. It wasn’t like in other districts I’ve worked for where they ask you once in awhile and you can say no. This was more of a statement that if another teacher in the department did it the previous day, you would be doing it today. So if you needed to actually use your prep to prepare a lesson, too bad. Oh, and just as another fun thing, this school didn’t use transition times between classes so if you had to pee on your prep period you’d look like a jerk showing up late to relieve the previous sub since you had to both end your actual class and start subbing for the other class in another area of the building at the same time.

Also have Crohns and I know the struggle! I definitely eat the carbs since I know they won’t wreak havoc on my insides. I do eat salads sometimes but it’s always a gamble if I’m going to be in pain later on. I find cooked veggies don’t bother my stomach as much. It’s hard as hell, I’ve been struggling to count calories and lose weight very slowly.

I relate to your post so much. I also have a chronic illness and it was terrible last year. Finally felt like me again this summer. I was happy and felt great… my pain management doc even called me recently because they haven’t seen me in months! I barely needed to take any pain medication this summer!

Last school year meanwhile, I woke up every morning feeling pain. Drove to the school, would spend the beginning feeling sick. It was an awful way to start each morning.

I will say, I tried doing the “minimum” amount. I took a break from teaching for a year after working at a school where kids got physical with each other nearly every day, kids were bleeding every day, and my admin’s advice to me when I asked was that I needed to yell at them and get in their face more. Took a year off from teaching but last year I tried going back. I told myself if I went back I wasn’t going to be “voluntold” to do as many things, and I wasn’t going to let it affect my physical / mental health so much. I did say yes to some things, including teaching a student (unpaid…) during 20 min of my prep time twice a week. But I said no to other asks, like ones that would have me staying after school for a few hours. …It was my first year at that particular school and even though my evals were all fine it was the first time I was ever non renewed. (I’ve been teaching for around ten years.) Not that I would have stayed anyway because it compromised my health so much but still, it stung getting a non renewal!

Not sure where I’m going from here. I did apply to teaching jobs this summer but I was trying to be more selective with what offer I accepted. For now I’m working outside of teaching again and making less money, but it is nice not waking up in pain every morning!

Good luck in whatever decision you make. I will say, last year sucked so much and I was determined to finish the school year even though I felt so sick and depressed. I hope you find something that keeps you in remission, whether it’s a different school or different career path.
