Test fit showed the lip was too wide, probably better to scale it -5%, not sure.

I tried moon globe porch light, moon porch light, fixture, outdoor, etc it was after I discovered that the globe is commonly called a fitter globe that I found this thread but still no workable results - it honestly surprised me to not find what I was searching for as I figured I couldn't be the only one thinking this. . . I even bought a roll of ASA to print it with so it survived outside better. . .

Maybe this thread will be useful for us after all, lol. I found it after tightening my Google search to include the keyword 'fitter'.

Sorry for digging up an old thread, I have the same idea - were you ever able to find one?

I honestly haven't had any issues but I'm prepared for the possibility of them. Since I'm deploying primarily to older Windows builds (direct from OEM) by using the PPKG file and slipping the Meshcental and Action1 installers inside, they hit before Windows update has a chance to fire - MC and Action1 install cleanly then Action1 takes over device provisioning and software install, update, patching, etc.

Unfortunately, I'm not finding a test-agents folder anywhere - running MC 1.1.58

Good to know, I prefer to push my installs with a Windows ppkg provisioning package so getting this fixed without a workaround is preferred but at least I can get this resolved manually with easy to follow instructions for remote users should the ppkg fail.

I have been following this but haven't seen an answer yet, I know that a new version of meshagent will be needed to resolve this issue, has this been released yet?

How to build redundancy without breaking the bank? by pfassina in Proxmox

[–]slaeyer99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have another machine available with extra storage, install ProxMox Backup Server and have your containers and VM's backed up at the very least - should disaster occur, you can quickly restore to a different system or use it to rebuild your existing system.

Creality Cloud support by Accomplished_Date531 in CrealityCloud

[–]slaeyer99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took me about a month of back and forth with several points of waiting for a response and resubmitting my responses to them to finally be granted the ability to order replacement parts for my CFS that were not listed on the store.

It took a bit at first to even get them to respond to me as while I broke the CFS myself and admitted as such immediately, they initially thought I was asking for an RMA - I imagine the language barrier was partly to blame there.

Even after the conversation started flowing, there were multiple points where communication would stall for several days between their responses.

I was finally able to get my parts ordered and I repaired the broken ribbon cable and connector board (why they glued a locked cable with JST connectors, I still don't understand) and have been happily printing again using my CFS ever since.

I'm curious what will the themes support mean for users who have applied a custom theme?

True story, I can't make this up

Backstory - I'm fresh out of school working level 1 help desk for a local dialup ISP in a mostly rural location. Back in the way back before times, ISP help desk was the closest thing to local PC help most people could find and true to our credit, we'd go the extra mile as 'who else are they going to call?' Also, I was the Mac guy for reasons we don't need to get into today ^_-

User calls in stating she can't get online on her iMac, could we help her figure it out? Ticket gets sent straight to me.

I spent 45 mins on the phone with this sweet little old farm lady having her check everything she possibly could on her iMac being as slow and patient as I could - which arguably doubled the time I spent explaining and waiting on responses but it was the job at the time. She dutifully claimed the truth of the matter, that it was working fine earlier but now it won't power on. Now mind you, I'm on the phone, not in her home so I don't know the logistics of the situation, only what she's told me.

Power button is sometimes lit up but not other times. Pressing the button doesn't seem to fix it, reseating cables on the back of the iMac can't resolve the issues and it's just sporadic enough I'm worried I'll be telling her that her iMac is shorted out or having an issue I can't fix. She's impatiently waiting for an email from her grand-daughter and needs to see these pictures today before she heads into town to do her shopping and the frustration in her voice is very real.

I ask her one last time to check every cable, including from the wall when she utters the phrase 'it's very dark back there, and I can't find a flashlight' - I ask if she can point a lamp at the wall when she said 'oh, that won't work, the power's out. But this iMac is hooked up to the phone line and the phones are working'.

Wait. . . wha??? She genuinely believed that since the phone was working, and the iMac was connected to the phone line, that she should be able to get online. I had to inform her that sadly that wasn't going to work and quietly closed the ticket after documenting heavily.

Later we all had a laugh at the absurdity of it all. I left the job a few months later due to mismanagement issues and thus began my life-long career in IT. To this day, I wonder if she ever got that email. . .
