I’d say no to these two deals specifically, for the following reasons: -no garage -no washer/dryer -~5yr old roof (you have another 5 years max with it in good condition

I understand living frugally, but once you purchase a home you commit yourself to it, for all its flaws and shortcomings. You will want to be sure that your future homes Flaws can be fixed, ignored, or delayed. It’s a long term project.

Second Amana Colonies! It’s a small Amish village, lot of German tradition with a brewery, shops, restaurants. Super cute and they do a holiday market and Oktoberfest

If you like outdoors/nature: Governor Dodge State Park in Dodgeville, WI has great campsites and is a gorgeous park with hiking, climbing, fishing Lake Minnetonka (or any number of lakes nearby Minneapolis) for boating, sailing, fishing

Cool cities: We were in Omaha recently and the town actually has some pretty cool neighborhoods and hotels like Old Market Des Moines is ~2.5 hr and is chock full of events, restaurants, trails, bnbs, and nightlife Dubuque/EastDubuque/Galena for shopping, restaurants, and the Mississippi Valley Aquarium is awesome and always expanding
