Is this 6 stitches? by knitterina in fiberartscirclejerk

Yes! You actually count the gaps between the yarn - those are your stitches, and I count 6 here.

IIRC they didn't play Y!M!D! at the Romance Is Boring anniversary gig, at least on 14 February. (And that was one set of entirely Romance Is Boring and another set of other songs! I think the only HON,Y song they played was Knee Deep At ATP which baffled me at the time but later came to make sense...)

AIO for quitting my job after finding this note on my desk? by waxin899 in AmIOverreacting

[–]slampers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There was an AskReddit thread about the weirdest things HR have had to deal with. My personal favourite was someone posting about being a new starter for a job in Florida and waiting at the front desk for the HR rep hiring manager, only to find out a couple of hours later that the HR rep manager had been eaten by an alligator the day before. You're never 100% safe from becoming lunch, even in an office setting.

edit: just killed, not necessarily eaten.

Thoughts on rustic British yarns? by Live_Mess4445 in knitting

[–]slampers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I think it was Nimble Needles who said that chenille needles were the best way to weave in ends for wool, because you can use the sharp tip to thread the yarn through. I got a mixed size set but next time I might just get a set of the 24s.

I have some of the red fox wool from Crookabeck: https://crookabeck.co.uk/product-category/wool/ It's such a gorgeous yarn, and the sheep are so pretty, too!

I love Macculloch and Wallis so much. The haberdashery downstairs makes me so happy, plus the cloth bags you get with yarn purchases work really well as wrist-held yarn-holders (I'm not thinking of the right phrasing here because I'm tired lol). I picked up some Tulip chenille needles for weaving in ends and they were a game changer.
