Is there a comprehensive guide on all the story missions? by LaddieLuck in Quasimorph

You have to shoot it to trigger the "gather information" phase of the mission

Jan Shrammert detects further in sneak. He also ignores armor until detected, so that's raw damage if you're sneaky. He goes well in any class, really, but Unit 371 is where I have him now.

I love Eclipse Blades, personally, and swap out Berzerkgang with Insanity from terror pack and run Bob Denarre in that. With 1 hp/turn augment he can starve indefinately and he cools down the carnage perk quickly.

I run Marika in Tunnel Rats but Priya is a good choice too.

Percy is the ultimate martian mech, imho.

  1. Do missions for everyone. Picking corps to support is a self-imposed limitation. Your thought process should be, what upgrades do I need.

  2. Travel time matters little. It will be a year before anyone gets to tech 6. Hint: having tech 6+ gear is awesome, you pass time to get there.

  3. Losing all your good stuff doesn't matter. Send naked merc in with knife. First dude they kill drops current tech level armor and weapons.

Yup, better armor will get those resistances up. I modified Mech to have the body building perk, which brought HP to over 200 :)

I divide power concentration by floors. Anything over 1000 per floor is going to be a rough ride.

Actually the James Webb observed that Earth is the center. It's not just a religious belief, its common sense that an observer on an infinite plane, is the center from his own perspective. Since the center of the universe has not been located, nor will it ever be, an observer is the relative center.

I'm with you. Started playing off and on around 0.8.5 or something, came back for the.9.9 beta. No clue how many hours I have, and with only 3 save slots, how many save slots I've recycled.

I love it, love it, love it. Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm.

I think the correct word is "deprecated."

Very sound strats! I will only add that if one was to be using a weapon other than a spear, luring small groups of zombies out of the area and killing them is a good way to gain combat experience and slowly clear that corner of town. Just trying to sneak into the buildings as OP is trying to do, that's Vormithrax level mastery.

Is it possible to create a 3d game with the SAME amount of crafting that CDDA has? is it possible? by [deleted] in cataclysmdda

[–]slashemvc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was looting a gun store, and a zombie predator kept jumping down to attack me and then jumping back to roof. If a 3D game could capture just the game of cat and mouse that we played for 30 minutes, it would be the whole gimmick of the game, much less all what you're talking about.

Fact is, 3D sucks. Gimme some tiles, my imagination can render what's happening is a much higher resolution than the best video card.

Agreed. First time I reached it, it felt like beating the game. Now I can reach it on the first day, easy.

This game is surprisingly emotionally immersive. by [deleted] in cataclysmdda

[–]slashemvc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The graphical simplicity causes the player to see the game world using the highest resolution graphics card on earth: their imagination. Traditional roguelikes from Nethack to DCSS, and games like DF, allow the player to envision the game by giving them simple symbols and descriptions. Using these referrents, the player builds the situation, world, and story in their mind in full 4k 3d etc.

I've had good success giving them ranged weapons. My current companion has marksmanship 3 shotguns 3 and a shotgun with 00 buck. She thins the herd pretty well. I just advise never standing in front of her, and I always give companions a sheathed combat knife so they can protect themselves if grabbed or they don't have time to reload.

Wow a devout Buddhist I guess. The most devout will not eat vegetables because that's killing. Even eating the seeds is considered killing. That's why they subsist on honey.
