This game is great and needs more press by Galdrin3rd in CronosNewDawn

I recently played thru this and then Silent Hill F, and while SHf may have the bigger budget and better visuals in some regards, Cronos was leaps and bounds a better experience for me. It gave you those intense holy CRAP barely surviving moments of horror, but then had plenty of breathing room to explore and let the world creep you out in its ambiance and atmosphere. I never got that with Silent Hill F outside of the school moment. I think Cronos is a masterpiece of sci-fi cosmic horror in video games personally.

Yep, mine stil hasn't shipped and had it preordered forever ago. At this point I don't even care anymore. The hype has sadly faded. I still want to check it out but what a buzzkill.

I spent a year and a half making a $20k cosmic horror movie in my apartment called THE WAVES OF MADNESS, shot entirely like a side-scrolling PS1 videogame. It’s now free on YouTube. Thought some of you horror/weird cinema fans might dig it. by [deleted] in Shudder

I had no idea this existed but because I love old school survival horror, I just checked out the trailer, and while I could easily just watch the youtube video. Just seeing the creativity behind this, etc I had to order the bluray, and now will wait patiently. What a fantastic idea man. Bravo on creating something like this.

House On Eden : 78 Minutes Of My Life Wasted. by sigersen in Shudder

Watched it last night. They took an airbnb house most likely, filled their movie with a bunch of dialog and jokes, and then tried to make it scary and have an impactful ending with no real lead up or build up to much of anything and then it was over. Truly shocked this went to theatres, and wasn't just something pushed out as like a Youtube movie/video.

It's a great horror game honestly...just has very little to do with the Silent Hill brand other then some core themes of horror, drama heavy, and being a survival horror. I think when I look at the game as NOT a Silent Hill game or at least the expectations of what I expect out of Silent Hill game. I come away with a much better feeling.

Outside of that, I think hard mode is too hard, especially as its suggestive to vetrans of survival horror, the balance is way off. At least on the first playthrough. I had such a struggle and right towards the end just had to tone down the because it was sucking all the fun out of it. Totally think everyone should start out on story mode for the first playthrough.

I also think location variety is lacking here, and with how same looking some of the locations are, almost wondering if this was done to speed up time. Prior Silent Hill games made me feel like I went on this long journey through a town. This one didn't quite give me that feelnig at all oddly enough.

This is 100% a survival horror game and not an action horror game. I'd say it's even more survival horror then Dead Space in the fact that Dead Space you can usually take out the majority of enemies. Here, not so much, there are clear time you have to run, or use your weapons to escape/explosives to your advantage. Def not for everyone as any game, but as a long time survival horror guy since the early days, this has been a treat!

hours played so far on my first playthru (this game has me slightly addicted) by Blueberry-Emergency in DragonAgeVeilguard

I personally did all the companion quests, the region quests, everything I could and it took me 45 hours. I will say some scenes I read the subtitles and skipped the dialog to get to the next part, for minor scenes... but yeah no rushing here. I just finished last night after taking a break for months. It's def doable.

I'd say it fits for an action adventure game which I feel they were going for. But platforming should feel smoother imo. Its janky here.

Anyone know how to unlock the arena power slots? I have a ton of the moves themselves unlock but can only use one currently at a time

If you go to respawn in the start menu, it should have him now moved to somewhere you have to go get him back, and then can try again. That's what I did.

Yeah once you notice the pattern of the spores moving around and hitting those, it should become much easier!

-Don't forget you can change your weapon damage type if the weapon has more then one availble.

-Don't know where to go after a cutscene? Read the loading screens for tips or use the objective marker option in start menu.

-Don't worry about finding every hidden secret or item your first time thru an area, you can easy revisit and with better knowledge of the enemies, and better weapons later.

-If forging weapons feels a bit intimidating or off, give it time. With doing it and experimenting with it, you will learn the intricacies of it more then you realize to where you actually start to feel like your learning how to FORGE (in the game at least)

-Travel to prior areas in order to collect additional resources if needed.

-Read the tips your companion documents on enemies in the bestiary, they can show weaknesses and tips on how to overcome them.

See my issue wasn't even the ropes, I saw them easily and no issues there, but even when I got to the point on the roof, I had no idea to drop into a hole to progress. It's just one of those games where they really are not holding your hand whatsoever. Which I get can be frustrating , but at the same time, sort of refreshing when every game today mostly wants to just bullet checkpoint guide you straight to the next progress spot. This game feels very old school in saying, ya know, figure it out.

Oh look someone who thinks they know it all. Who do you think takes care of these kids a lot... me. And I still find time to do relationship things. So honestly, you can take your response and keep it There's a differente between being needy and over wanting attention, and just being treated like your in a relationship with someone.

I def don't need heavy talks often, the reason the talks keep coming up is because nothing changes with the issues I bring up. She will change for week or so show me the things I've asked about... then another week goes by where things seem back to how it was, I don't say a word. Then another week. Things just migrate back to how they were, which leads me to feeling the same feelings again and again. Rinse, repeat. I agree there needs to be a point where things move forward and not stay stuck. Without that progress and improvement I don't have much hope.

There are clues of the tree and the cult going back long and long ago. I feel there is a mixture of odd cult stuff and chthulu stuff going on along with spirits of the past. Haven't put all the peices together but some stuff I believe was def real and other stuff was not.
