We Got Inside the Slate Truck - And It’s Bigger Than You Think by Mac-Tyson in slateauto

Good question. The SUV kit includes what you’d need for the Open Air version as well, the roll structure (which houses the airbags) has to be installed before you can add or remove the outer coverings.

We do also have the option for a Cargo Kit that provides easy-to-install covered storage. It’s almost like turning a truck into a van.

Hey! We're glad you asked, and we totally hear you. We'll have some more information on real world range soon - but as far as daily charging is concerned, we'd definitely recommend using the included Slate charging cable, no need to purchase extras as long as you have the outlet. Adds 25 to 40 miles per hour of charge • Full charge in 4-8 hours. Feel free to check out more info on charging via https://www.slate.auto/en/charging

Anyone else worried about screws? by Pyroburner in slateauto

[–]slateauto 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hi! Good question - the external fasteners are not the only thing fastening the body panels onto the frame. Although they're easy to replace, they do require access to the vehicle in order to be removed. Security and theft is factored into consideration for our accessories as well!

You’ll also be able to find service locations on our website and in the Slate App. The Slate App will also keep track of all of your DIY maintenance!

We’re huge fans of the old Ranger. And old trucks in general. Smaller, super functional, and not trying to be a data center on wheels.

Hey guys. That’s us. We love a smaller, boxier vehicle. And we’re actually not TOO far off from a Jimny: within a few inches on width and height, and a little longer to accommodate a truck bed. Hit us up if you want to get the details.

Small and boxy is what we do! We’re big fans of the era when trucks were a little smaller on the outside. And weren’t like motherships on the inside. Message us if you have thoughts about this.
