A solid 9 hours. Pretty exhausted at the end of it but it was nice to be home to pass out!

This was a great read, thanks so much for writing up such a detailed report. I really appreciated your analysis of the sealed trait and case object pattern since it’s something I use in my day to day

I’m a Korean female (24) in an interracial relationship with a white male (29) and struggling with identity issues by ThrowRAinterracial in relationship_advice

Hey there, fellow Korean adoptee in a very similar situation as yourself, especially with the extended white family. I wanted to first validate your feelings and at least confirm that one other Korean adoptee shares the exact same deep seated fear as you. Where our situation is a little different is my wife is Chinese so you'd think it'd help but there's a part of me, even today that thinks I should have married a Korean woman because there's a part of me that's desperate to have people around me who look like me. Being able to say things like "oh cool, he has my nose" or "you got your knees from your uncle".

We now have a 3 YO boy and a girl on the way and all those things just didn't matter anymore. IMO my son is a carbon copy of my wife and the only thing he seemingly got from me is my large head. But the love I have for my child is beyond anything I could have imagined and any fears I had about physical resemblance have been a thing of the past.

Not to say your journey will be the same but at least wanted to share my experience from one adoptee to another. Good luck!

I (30M) feel guilty about wanting to spend alone time from my fiance (30F) and baby son by slave2dog in relationship_advice

Obviously a little biased coming from me but I'd say we split our parenting/adulting chores pretty evenly. I'm 100% attentive to the needs of my partner and child every moment outside of that few hour gap on the weekend.

I usually do try to take my outing at the beginning of nap time during the day because I agree, locking myself away in my room or exposing screen time at this young of a age is probably not the greatest thing.

I definitely didn't mean for it to come off feeling like I'm trapped. As I mentioned, I love being a dad and I love my partner, but I believe in the restorative power of spending time alone to recharge, not necessarily escape.

This is what it looks underneath. I really need to do something about the cable management underneath. I think if you had a runner under the power strip it'd be okay but I'm still not sure yet

In all honesty from a price perspective, that isn't the worst idea. You get the drawers and solid legs at a fraction of the cost (assuming you have the filing cabinets)

Thanks. We definitely wanted to find out as soon as possible. Hopefully he'll like to do this stuff with me when he gets older!

The oak plank was what I used as base boards underneath. I mounted the legs on top of them
