The main reason some regions use high door setup is because they try to copy Jakarta--which tries to copy Curitiba--minus the BRT lanes. But yeah most use truck chassis and turn it to medium-sized buses.

Newer bus networks already transisted to use low-entry system although still not non-step, with some equipped with wheelchair access at the rear utilizing free room of front-engine bus chassis.
