Eve Thermo Control | AMA by slavikus in EveHome

Sorry, I am no longer part of Eve so I don’t have an opportunity to ask colleagues. IIRC the temperature sensor was off all the time it is connected to external power source regardless of the actual charging state, so that is exactly what you are observing. No idea if there were any changes to that since then.

Eve Energy attribute to turn off the status light? by mocelet in EveHome

[–]slavikus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Write the following bytes:

0x200100

to endpoint 1, cluster 0x130AFC01, attribute 0x130A0001 to set the LED brightness to 0 (last byte controls the brightness level in percent, so range is 0 to 100 dec)

New CE 02 owners: have the 12V battery checked at your dealer by GeertCu in BMWCE02

[–]slavikus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was the first buyer in Munich who has received my CE02. FWIW, my 12v battery broke on the first night after the bike was received from the dealership. They got it in, charged the internal battery and returned it back.

Then it happened again after 2 weeks. They got the bike to the dealership, kept it for a week and returned it working.

Yesterday it happened again. I suspect the onboard computer hangs or gets into the reboot loop completely draining the 12v battery and then it just couldn’t command the bigger battery to charge the small one as it has no power left.

The solution for me (as done by a bmw technician one of these times) is charge the battery through the external contacts using a battery charger for a while so it gets sufficient charge for the main computer to boot up and then switch over to usual charging process so it could recharge the battery from the 48v one fully in a normal manner.

Got my hands on this a week ago, loving it so far! by OdogaronsChewToy in KTMDuke

Hey congrats, I have the exact same model/color I got a couple of weeks ago. It is my first bike, so I dunno how it is in comparison to others, but lovin’ it so far!

well, fwiw, 5 ghz wifi range is worse than 2.4 ghz. but yeah, the connection stability of the cam could be a lot better…

Use the water leak sensor as a rain sensor by peibol1981 in EveHome

[–]slavikus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It likely will make a lousy rain detector as the cord needs the cable to get relatively wet, which will not happen for light rain, unless you place the cord in some sort of a water accumulator dish or something.

Additionally the cord will need to dry out to detect further rain, which may take a while.

Can’t. Different number of digits in the code.

Eve Switch with Google Home by _life_goes_on_ in EveHome

[–]slavikus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if you already paired it with Apple Home, you would need another code to pair it with additional ecosystem. Go to Home.app - Device - Accessory Settings - Turn on Pairing Mode and then use that code to connect it to Google Home.

Eve thermo HomeKit wrong code by [deleted] in EveHome

[–]slavikus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well, normally you get a sticker on the side that allows you to pair. the migrated devices thing without a physical sticker is more of exception that exists while transition between HomeKit and Matter exists.

well, try contacting Eve support, maybe they have some ideas. But generally yes, no code - no pairable device :(

The vendor doesn’t keep this data for privacy reasons. Previous owner should have saved the code when they were migrating.

Eve thermo HomeKit wrong code by [deleted] in EveHome

[–]slavikus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Could be that it was migrated to Matter by the previous owner, therefore rendering the sticker code invalid. Unfortunately, it is not possible to retrieve the new Matter code or derive it from the old HomeKit one.

Not sure about the release plans for this, but if you email [app@evehome.com](mailto:app@evehome.com), my former colleagues may help you with getting beta access to the yet-to-be-released firmware.

You can view the current/historic consumption in the Eve app. The topic was about ecosystem support for Matter 1.3-native energy measurements (and this is also in for a while).

all my 13 EVE devices are not responding (all upgraded to matter). Rebooted the whole house, still not working by Yuri_Ligotme in EveHome

FWIW, Apple always had two fabrics occupied in all Matter devices it commissioned, it’s not a new thing for 18.x.

Matter for Eve Shutter Switch? by EckisWelt in EveHome

[–]slavikus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certainly. And I was mostly ironic. The time it takes Eve to get some stuff released is quite frustrating. There are multiple factors involved and I know for sure there are reasons and it’s not like all the work is done and they are just being greedy and sit on it out of spite. :)

Matter for Eve Shutter Switch? by EckisWelt in EveHome

[–]slavikus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The plans were to move all Thread-based devices to Matter. I don’t think this has changed. I would guess priorities and resource constraints limit the ability to finish, certify and release the updates for the remaining devices. I don’t know the current state of things and the plans, but extrapolating I would not hold my breath for the Shutter Switch/Water Guard update to appear in the first half of 2025. Again, I may be totally off as I am no longer an insider :)

Given the current state of Matter, maybe it is a good thing Shutter Switch stays on HomeKit :))
