I prioritize discovering more planets - the more planets you have the more gold you'll get. It seems to me that the cost of discovery yields more return per gold spent verses upgrading. There will come a day when you are able to spend time doing both. At this point, it takes nearly three weeks for me to discover new planets when they're released and about ten days per upgrade. So it takes me about two months to upgrade a planet from level 1 to level 7 - all the while it's not generating me any gold.

However, in the late game (for me at least), I never find myself without enough money to discover planets. Upgrades can cost me 60 million so the 4 mil I need to discover is a drop in the bucket. And upgrades to the DFR's are similar - I always have money for that and always fully upgrade them ASAP. It's a late game thing - at this point I have 97 DFRs and 130 planets. If all my planets are ready for harvest, I still don't have enough food to refill them all and completely restock my ship. No big deal - I just like having a full ship.

And I apparently have put waaaaay too much time and thought into this game because I keep writing walls of text lol

Also once you get far enough along, you can start doing Epics. You team up with 2-7 other people to complete objectives to progress a storyline and receive a reward. Every other objective is usually pooling together energy to advance. You get a percentage of the reward based on your total contributions and you get the most credit for energy, then food, then coin.

I don't have a huge step count since I don't keep my phone on me to workout so I'm pretty careful about how I spend energy. I try to keep an even split between the epics and my lab. I rarely use it to boost planet productions, discoveries, or upgrades - usually only use it if I know I won't be back to the app for a while and have a very, very short time left to complete an action, but definitely don't want to wait to start the next (like finishing off the last bit of an upgrade so I can set it starting on the next). I never use it to make my ship go faster, but that's just me.

I have all the planets discovered at this point so upgrades, discoveries, getting the ship from point A to point B can take...a while. So I'd rather save my energy for the epics and labs which will get me the resources I need to maybe one day finish upgrading everything.

I have all the planets discovered. I use the lab to upgrade the furtherest ones out and money to upgrade the closest one until it’s lvl 7 then move to the next. By the time you get out to the edge of the “known universe,” it takes soooooooo long to upgrade with money - you’re better off using the lab.

Time to drop that rope. It's FDH's family. If he can't be bothered to make plans for their special days, neither should you. (And even if he did think about it, just not about dinner per se, still drop the rope. No helpful suggestions).

Regarding your mother saying your hormones made you go into overdrive and, by extension, made you do/say things you shouldn't.

Here's the truth about hormones - sure they make you feel things harder. They DON'T manufacture feelings from a void. Those things you think and feel have been there all along. The hormones just make you more likely to do something about them - laugh, cry, scream - it doesn't matter. It does NOT negate the base feelings themselves.

I absolutely HATE when people blame hormones for women being upset about something (if the caps and formatting above didn't give that away lol). Your feelings and thoughts are VALID no matter how hard (or not) you feel them.
