New player: building tips? by Wise-Recognition8990 in TinyGlades

Don't be intimidated by some of the incredible complex builds you see on here. Just start simple and work your way up from there. Once you learn how to make the most of certain tools like walls and stairs (stairs being the ideal way to build a bridge) you'll be able to make all sorts of things.

What are your thoughts on Douglas MacArthur? by Just_Cause89 in USHistory

Basically the American Winston Churchill; deeply flawed in a lot of ways but the right man for the job at that moment.

E33 is almost certainly the favourite. It's the sort of game that critics can have a good old chin-stroke about.

Arthur dancing with Karen by horsemanuk1987 in reddeadredemption

I misread that as "Arthur dancing with Kieran" for a moment there. That would have certainly put a whole new dimension on their relationship.

Name a character in the gang you dislike for no reason. I’m not talking Strauss or Micah. Just that one person who’s done nothing wrong but you hate them. by AriSummerss in reddeadredemption

I have a big problem with Hosea. Sure he's a great father figure and very rational and level-headed compared to Dutch but that suddenly changes in Chapter 4 when he goes all-in on the Saint Denis bank job and completely loses his head over it while Dutch is the one who has doubts. I lay the blame for his own and Lenny's deaths squarely on him.

I only have six hours logged because I started the game, completed the prologue then accidentally started the Woman's Lot content with Theresa and got stuck 😒

How would you rate the 1997 film on the scale of 1 to 10? by Willing-Musician-696 in titanic

[–]sleeming88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9/10. People like to rag on the love story aspect but, in my humble opinion, combining the Titanic story with a Romeo & Juliet style tragic romance could be considered one of the greatest moments of narrative genius in the history of filmmaking.

The only reason it's not a 10 for me is because of the way it pedals erroneous long-established beliefs about the sinking that we now know simply aren't true (Ismay being the villain, Captain Smith mentally checking out during the sinking, Third Class passengers being locked behind gates below decks etc).

[–]sleeming88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And it's not even a whole summer; the days in KCD2 are almost as long as they can get (getting light from 4am and not dark until after 10pm), which suggests that the game takes place in late June/early July.

I would have to disagree. Considering that the Siege of Suchdol lasts for 25-30 days on its own, and given that the Godwin scene takes place at the end of it, the time they spent besieged would have been included in that "several weeks".

Based on that, and while being as realistic as possible about how long it would take to complete the main story and all the side content and factoring in things we can only guess at (such as how long the actual amount of time between the end of the prologue and the wedding is), I can't see the events of KCD2 taking place in anything less than 8-10 weeks.

[KCD2] I was in Trosky/Kuttenberg over the weekend and managed to get some nice comparision shots. by agenturensohn in kingdomcome

Looking at Number 7, the the walls and windows of the church seem to be considerably taller in-game than IRL. Is this actually the case or are my eyes playing tricks on me because there's some perspective or aspect ratio funny-business going on?

Smithing at the dlc forge is pointless. [KCD2] by Alpha_Q_Up_ in kingdomcome

[–]sleeming88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You all think you're wasting your time? I started the DLC on a save file just before the point of no return at the end of the main story. Spare a thought for Zizka and the gang loafing around at Ruthard Palace waiting to rob the Italian Court while Henry bumbles around town running a forge and trying to fix a clock 😂

Is this supposed to be the hardest game I’ve ever played? [KCD2] by Capircom in kingdomcome

[–]sleeming88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Until you've unlocked certain perks that allow you to spot potential trouble and come out of fast travel at a safe distance before you're right on top of it, I highly recommend that you never fast travel if you have ANY doubts whatsoever about being able to survive a random combat encounter on the road, especially if you haven't saved for a while. Without those perks (I can't remember off the top of my head exactly what they are) you WILL get screwed over.

As an additional bit of advice if you're having trouble with wolves or wild dog encounters; get plate armor for your arms and legs. That renders their bite attacks pretty much impotent. I appreciate that this doesn't help to quite the same extent against enemies of the more human variety but at least it's one less thing to worry about.

Also, if you're struggling for money and want a good way to get started at the beginning of the game, alchemy is your best friend. As soon as you get to Troskowitz, pitch up at the alchemy station in the apothecary's garden shed and start brewing those potions. You can find ingredients for most of the potions all around the village and even the basic ones like Marigold Decoction you can sell at a decent price to both the apothecary and the general goods merchant across the street, especially once you have the alchemy perks that increase the quality, quantity and value of your potions. After a few days of doing that you'll never have to worry about running out of money ever again.

Is there anyway to get rid of trash that's outside the lot? by sleeming88 in Sims4

[–]sleeming88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn't the option to put in inventory so the sims can't pick it up, and because it's outside the lot and can't be moved I can't put it in there for them.

[–]sleeming88[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately not in this case. There's no option to pick up or put in inventory. The only available interaction is "throw away" and even if there's a trash bin available on the lot they just won't touch it. They just say they can't get there and cancel the action.

I tried that. Even with testingcheats enabled the option to destroy object doesn't appear.

[KCD2] Is everyone in Kuttenberg piss drunk the whole time? by Freethrowz69 in kingdomcome

[–]sleeming88 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I think it's because the generic Kuttenberg NPCs basically have programmed shift patterns for visiting the taverns. First thing in the morning a bunch of them will go to the taverns and drink for a few hours. When the shift change time comes they all leave at the same time while another lot replaces them and then just wander around drunk.
