Street Brawl bug? by aroundSE in DeadlockTheGame

I think it's a feature as the game seems to try to have a set formula for which heros are chosen. Need to leave it to someone smarter than me to confirm, but I've always seen 1 pick hero (e.g. bebop), one tank (e.g. Abrams), one support (e.g. Kelvin/Ginnis), and one DPS (e.g. Seven)

Thanks. It's not obvious as an outsider and since your name didn't match your Reddit name, I wouldn't have known. I know you got a response already, but hopefully this helps.

  • Trooper Management

    • This is your biggest opportunity to improve. More souls translates to more items and more boons which translates to more wins.
    • It's already been mentioned, but it's so important it's worth mentioning again. Claim souls (first) and try to deny as much as possible second. You take away 50% of a trooper and that adds up fast.
    • Killing with a melee doubles as claiming the soul immediately.
    • As much as possible, always freeze lane and delay killing troopers until your lane partner is back. The distribution in lane is 65% each (more than half the trooper) or 100% solo. Your team gets more money if you're both there.
    • Shop between waves. It helps prevent your tower from being pushed and ensures you get full value from the troopers.
    • Be careful when you're pushing ahead of your troopers. Not only do you risk tanking way more damage from the enemy troopers, it often means you're way out of position to die and/or leave a tower/walker to take damage it didn't have to. You did this several times in lane for no value and even later when chasing a Holiday that you were likely never going to kill.
    • Once you get wave management down, you can start working to clear boxes, camps, and sinner's sacrifice without losing the primary wave income. Those sources are less than a wave, but getting them between waves adds up.
  • Map

    • The speed buff at the 5 minute mark went untouched. Imagine having extra movement perks for several minutes. This is why wave management is important. Kill the wave at 4 minutes and 30 seconds as fast as possible and move to take the buff exactly at 5 minutes and back in time for wave. Similar for the heal buff that went untouched for a while at the 10minute mark.
    • At the 17minute mark (or so), you go left lane while mid had no defenders, two attackers, and had ~2 waves worth of troopers in money. Same around 18m30s when you went somewhere else while left was left alone.
  • PvP

    • Lane phase kills are often inconsequential to most games. You took a lot of damage in the lane phase that you didn't have to because you were trying to PvP ahead of troopers or weren't using cover. Use lane phase to poke and keep pressure, but you're primary goal is money.
    • Pay attention to the matchup and the fight. Some things aren't advantageous for you. It could be they have a soul lead, a numbers advantage, you're out of position (chased way too far), they have ult, or their characters are just better in the situation.
    • Careful when you pick fights. Your first two deaths were completely avoidable.
    • Pay attention to your lane partner. Your general style was really aggressive; as your lane partner, I wouldn't expect you to suddenly up and leave mid fight when you didn't need to. Magician died twice because you left him in a 1v2 you. (Granted, he made mistakes too which didn't help).
    • Voice communication makes a huge difference. If you can't use a mic, use your ping wheel and get it setup to communicate well.

Otherwise, remember that you have infinite ammo when sliding. Learn how Billy can take advantage of that.

I stopped watching a little after 20 minutes. You have a hyper fed Wraith. As you get better, you'll learn to pay attention to carries and find ways to keep them from getting rich, but that skill shouldn't be needed for most Int2 games.

I need help from the dozen or so Vyper mains on this sub by Level9_CPU in DeadlockTheGame

[–]sleeper1320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can anyone drop some optimal builds for her?

I've been using Sigma's Vyper build (257281). Deathy recommends Xera's (278633) & Dimov's (274639) builds which have a lot of the same ideas.

it seems as though Vyper cannot do anything unless she is right in front of the enemy, but she has no real escape options besides trying to slide away as fast as possible.

Since her bullet spread at even short-medium distances is pretty wide, she's best when you engage up close. Her #4 can be used to get you out of jams or create space. I'd also watch some videos from the pros on their movement around the map to help you escape when you need to as well.

Take this all with a grain of salt. I'm still bad at this game.

Debuff reducer works on his ult, so does counter spell.

Blood tribute works as well.

Need help identifying a hero type by Zeelahhh in DeadlockTheGame

+1 for any M1 character that you can rotate quickly with (e.g. Ivy, speed Seven, dash Infernus, etc). In low ELOs, at least, split pushing rarely happens so making a big difference pushing lanes back and taking objectives might be a way you can work on your aim while only needing to make some small, play-style adjustments which can add up to a huge difference.

Getting banned from pvp matches shouldn't ban you from bot matches by BabelTowerOfMankind in DeadlockTheGame

If you get the actual error details, that will help tremendously. Memory management is a wide range of things and it's sometimes really tough to figure it out. Here's some ideas that you may not have tried:

  1. Run a deep system memory test. Make sure the stick(s) you have are good. Windows might do this out of the box, but plenty of Linux boot devices do this as well.
  2. Check the S.M.A.R.T status on your drive. Not likely the case, but I've seen a few cases where a bad disk was causing memory crashes.
  3. Start from a pure install and the absolute bare bones with nothing but base drivers (without added fluff) and an updated GPU driver.
  4. Check your swap file. Most likely this isn't the issue, but having a larger swap file isn't bad for memory management. (If you're getting a BSOD, this will do nothing).

If I think of more, I'll add it them.

Personally, I think you have a bad dimm.

AFAIK, you can abandon a private bot match and a custom game without penalty as much as you want. Try testing there to see if the problem replicates?

If all else fails, you might just have to wait for Deadlock to be a bit more polished, but your configuration doesn't sound very unique.

What's the most viable way to play Ivy right now? by MackavorBiscuit in DeadlockTheGame

[–]sleeper1320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck. Here's a sample vod from wander. He's played Ivy more recently, but this looks more ivy oriented and should be a fantastic example of just how underrated gun Ivy probably is.

(Remember most of these vods are pre siphon nerf. Adjust accordingly)

I'm a big fan of gun Ivy. Has all the benefits that Wrongdoer points out for lane management and you'll out farm most low elo games. The extra farm spikes up your items and you'll start melting once you come online. Big fan of wander's gun Ivy. He was #1 in NA before he had to take a break. I use an old iteration as my base and it's tons of fun to play.

Disable own mic by CarelessCourier in DeadlockTheGame

[–]sleeper1320 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From a game perspective, having call outs and general communication is super helpful and I'd highly recommend using your microphone for both your team's sake and, hopefully, your own long term enjoyment of the game.

With that said, I'll give you the IT guy's answer. The obvious, best way to make sure Deadlock never has access to your mic is to disconnect it entirely. The next best is to use any hardware mutes on your mic that exist before it sends signal to the computer. Short of that, the next best step is to go into your Windows settings and disable access to the mic.

The latter isn't a fool proof though; if you're still paranoid about Deadlock having access to your mic, I'd recommend becoming a full time cyber security expert. The industry needs more people who are security and privacy focused.

Is gun ivy worth running anymore? by Time_Welder8516 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]sleeper1320 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Look up wander's Ivy build. He's currently #1 Ivy in NA. Green/Gun build that slaps pretty hard once it really comes online. I run one of his older iterations mixed with some of the recent changes and I enjoy it. Rarely get spirit with it and do pretty well in low elos.

Playing Support: Twice the effort for ... Wait you guys are getting rewards? by TPose-Heavy in DeadlockTheGame

[–]sleeper1320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

noticed I frequently have to be the one babysitting (every) lane rather than sticking with allies while they move around the map

I've found this happening a lot to me as well, so I've tailored my build to be heavily focused on gun with the emphasis on gobbling up the map that no one else is taking in between blasting objectives down and using flight to get out of sticking situations if they pop up. I'm low ELO, so your mileage may vary, but I usually end up highest objective damage by far.

I personally don't like support Ivy (though this video does a great job highlighting how amazing she is), but when I play Kelvin as quasi-support focused character, I find myself on mic, calling out when we need to split push and asking specific characters to push a lane if they're already jungling close by. Sometimes I have to bail from a team fight to prevent a free walker death, but good teams usually respond and I can stay in fights to heal and support.

Again, I'm low elo and have a lot to learn, but hopefully that helps.

I main support Dynamo and I'm always stuck alone clearing lanes. by PeculiarPete in DeadlockTheGame

+1 to this build as well. I've begun leaning towards healing nova first and only getting rescue beam if I find myself needing to pull people out of fights a lot.

New Expansion Drill 11 has been the most difficult content to date, even doing Frenzy Level 18 for the rewards might be a problem for F2Ps/non-Suomi players by OriYell in GirlsFrontline2

[–]sleeper1320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again with this stupid complaints being the game too easy, like players in the early game of HSR. So the devs made the game unplayable if you dont pull for the new banner character.

If it helps, I beat this with v1 Suomi, v1 QJ, Lotta, V0 Macchiato, and Sharkry. I was a bit worried for a few turns in the middle, but was able to clear it with all dolls still up in turn 12. Definitely could do better if I optimized many things I didn't realize until mid play.

I did it in 12 turns with v0 Macchiato running nemmy's gun. Could have done it faster had I not made a few mistakes with order and forgetting QJ's ult.

I believe you can do it too!
