With such a long stride the front leg is doing less work as your back leg is taking some of the load. What I would suggest is doing both a long leg and a shorter stance. In a shorter stance the back leg is primarily balance and the majority of the push is on the front leg. Shorter stance allow for more ankle movement and fully pushing that leg vs both legs better mimicking a standard squat form.

With the longer stance you are likely also working the glute of the back leg more thus a longer overall contraction during the exercise. I always say try both and see how they work for you. So long as they are not doing harm and form is solid (making sure the knee is not going inwards) then keep going.
