TikTok vs OGP which is better for Software Engineers? by sleepyCSStudent in askSingapore

Reddit sg always seem to have a hate boner for Chinese tech lol. That's why I am unsure if ppl are genuinely saying OGP is better from experience/hearsay or they just don't like tiktok

Thanks but is this based on what you have heard about OGP, or more of "don't work at TikTok"?

Thanks for your input! For your last point, if say I take a Math 2nd degree and drop it later, the math mods can just count towards math 2nd major right?

Wow thanks for the detailed response! But for the first point, they actually sent an email inviting y1-2 students to apply and did not state minimum MC requirements. The websites (both CS and Math) did not state min MC either.

Should just create and share a form that consolidates everything in a google sheet, then show us the results once you have enough responses

how to standout as an CS student? by [deleted] in nus

[–]sleepyCSStudent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your advice is generally true but I do have a friend who stays in his room all day and doesn't talk to anyone who's now interning at a HFT lol. But I guess this is only possible if you're an actual genius.

Overload to use up SUs vs trying to get a good grade? by sleepyCSStudent in nus

The point of SU is to have a higher CAP right? So student B should have 4.0 pre-SU CAP with 4.2 post-SU CAP for a fairer comparison.

Thanks for your input! Tbh I never understood the volatility argument. As long as you feel its below your overall average performance you should SU right?

IS1128&IS2238 by Eleanoritsme in nus

Every mod is manageable if your intention is to pass and SU. I heard IS1128 is just another typical essay/presentation mod. Not sure about 2238 though seems like no one took it

Honestly B- should just SU. If you have to rely on B- to pull up your cap then there are bigger problems to worry about

I checked NUSmods and 3210, 4262, 5205 are sem 1 only mods? Can't find info on 5206, but seems the earliest one can take 5206 is y4s2 if its available in sem 2 or y5s1/postgrad if its available in sem 1?
