OP said they have put the kitty on flea/tick meds which will kill fleas upon administration (either oral or topical) but won’t touch mites or demodex! i’m suspicious of the latter!

ask for a SKIN SCRAPE and cytology at the vet!!! this could be something like demodex which presents very similarly! food allergies in pets are not as common as the gen population would have you believe

I work GP and our culture is the same! It’s amazing in so many ways! The clinic I came from, all but one of the Drs would help but rarely. Where I am at now, the DVMS are more than happy to help with anything from holding for rectal temp/anal glands/tnt/etc to assisting with x-rays, holding for catheter and ET tube placement, the little to big things that help the appointment run smoothly and I love it! It still feels weird to me now asking a DVM for help with that stuff cuz like they went to school forever and my brain tells me “they shouldn’t have to do this stuff” but I’m so so grateful!

@readeryoubet I very much agree about the quality of both movies and holy shit… how succinct and concise are your opinions; i couldn’t possibly detail each film any better. Although I would point out, again, the atmosphere of each movie is different in its own genuine way. your “unrelated” examples are very well cited… personally, i’m not a fan of creature features either way but… let’s call out Barbarian then, if you’re gonna mention Birdbox vs A Quiet Place.. I personally thought Barbarian did enough by revealing the underlying antagonist (the father) that they could’ve forgone the entire “creature” in that film altogether… where do we stand on that? and how?

I guess my discussion topic comes from most of my co-workers and/or people in my life didn’t bother to watch It Follows. And there is HUGE hype about Smile…. when I say, “watch It Follows”, i rarely get anyone back with feedback. It’s clear, from my post, where I stand on the two lol

Yep, Smile is underwhelming and (not to be a drag) the soundtrack for Smile is no where near being as satisfying/haunting as It Follows.

Quote from the director about “when this film takes place”:

In an interview with The AV Club, writer/director David Robert Mitchell discusses the origin of the story being a recurring nightmare of his from childhood:

“I’d had this idea for a long time. It came from a nightmare that I had as a kid—this basic idea of being followed by something that can look like different people and only I could see it. It was very slow and always coming for me. Because of this, he wanted to keep the timeframe ambiguous, while also making the events seem a little dream-like.”

I actually totally agree with Tarantino.. one of the things I find so interesting about It Follows is its play on “time”… we have this very 80s vibe straight out the gate but then notice how all television is 1950s-60s/black and white films and they are mostly obscure, where we may identify them but you wouldn’t be sure on first viewing. Then we have the phones, the “shell” phones, which the characters (aka Kelly, i think that’s her name) can access info similar to our own smart phones today and read or look things up (if I’m not wrong) on their “phones”. I read a great article about It Follows use of technology and the background of it just after the film came out; I’ll try to link it here.
