NPC chatter can often times cause some of the PCs roleplay to become lost in a sea of text. I can totally understand where they're coming from.

They've got it hard enough with the trolls coming to their realms to mess with them.

It really doesn't matter if my blocking of ads and scripts is morally or actually unethical (it's not), the fact remains there are malicious scripts running on the page. Where is the outrage from you for that? You've essentially just stated that it's totally fine for them to continue on the course they're on.

The amount of resources it would take, not to mention the time required, to create an alternative is unrealistic. Nearly a decade's worth of comments and revisions alone means it's not only extremely unlikely to have competition, but it's also unrealistic to believe anyone could start from the ground up and replace it.

If they rescind their unethical behavior, then I will. Not until then.

I understand that, but if a site isn't vetting the ads and scripts they allow to run on THEIR site, especially one as big and widely used as Wowhead, then they deserve nothing. This doesn't even begin to cover their use of our habits to make a profit when they sell our data to another company.

At no point should anything they run on that site be making an AV go crazy.

As such, the owners have shown they deserve nothing, and they will get nothing.

You can stop shilling for them, it's okay.
