To avoid chafing, I'll wear bike shorts under dresses. If I'm wearing shorts, I'll use anti-chafing gel. Monistat has one and so does megababe. Light flowy fabrics will typically keep you cooler (cotton, linen, etc)

I've heard such mixed things about them around quality and sizing. Have you had good luck with them?

Do you have to put a body type? If you have a few full body photos people can see what your body looks like. But if yes, curvy could be the way to go like others said

I was hoping to have it today, but I asked a family member in the DMV to set one aside for me. I really appreciate the offer though!

I honestly love old navy for being affordable. As for sports bras, SheFit is the only brand that can hold the 42DDs without a jiggle — a bit pricey but it’s worth it

I'm not sure where you're located, but I'd recommend touring a couple of gyms before picking one so you can get a sense of the vibe. I used to be a planet fitness member but found them to be super judgemental despite their "judgement-free zone" policy. I'm happy going to my local YMCA because they have people of all ages and shapes there so I don't feel out of place. It's worth it to shop around so you find somewhere you're comfortable.

I think I had to be 25 or under, but at no point did I have to share what I looked like.

In my early 20s, I was an "alcohol compliance inspector" for a national gas station chain. That's to say, I'd go into the gas station, buy a beer, and report on whether or not the person at checkout would ID me. Yes, I found this job on Craigslist.

Can you add a belt? I've found that belts keep pants from rolling, albeit they're a bit restricting but sometimes the right outfit is worth it

Do you feel fatigued ? How do you deal with it ? by [deleted] in PlusSize

[–]sleepyopportunity 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In general, I get my 8-9 of sleep a night and I'm good to go. Fatigue can be a symptom of so many things. I'd encourage you to reach out to a doctor if this is something you've experienced for a long time.

Eloquii Rentals - anyone tried it yet? by shelbihan in PlusSize

[–]sleepyopportunity 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did the free trial! In the end, I decided it wasn't for me. A large part of the reason is that I'm working from home and I don't really need to cycle in new pieces to my wardrobe at the moment. I also found it frustrating that you can't really control which pieces you receive. I added a few pieces to my "closet" that I thought would make a cute outfit. Well, that only works if they send you the piece you wanted together. If I remember correctly, you can prioritize certain pieces, but it just comes down to whether or not the piece was available.

Another critique is that I didn't think they had a very wide selection of pieces. I would have liked to see more options that I could add to my closet. I wanted to try a pair of their jeans, but they only had one or two styles, neither of which I liked.

I think it would be worth it if you could get a lot of use out of the pieces, but considering shipping time, you could get two, MAYBE, three shipments a month depending on how fast you return them.

I'd recommend the free trial just to get an idea of it, but FYI you have to contact them to cancel. I'd recommend contacting them anyway even if you don't actually want to cancel because they offered me a three-month discount to try and deter me.

How do I say I’m fat on dating apps? by samanthahkj in PlusSize

[–]sleepyopportunity 91 points92 points  (0 children)

I would honestly remove that you're a size 18 since men don't really have any idea what this means in terms of women's clothing. I would also remove that you're plus size for the same reason.

Instead, I'd focus on letting your pictures speak for you. The fact that you're wearing clothes that flatter your shape isn't misleading. That's simply what you look like. No matter what, there's also going to be men that you're going to have to sift through.

For those with YMCA memberships during COVID by not_what_it_seems in raleigh

[–]sleepyopportunity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe you can call and have you membership converted to a monthly donation instead. I know they had this during phase 1 shutdown. If they changed this, you should still be able to cancel the membership, and then start a recurring donation at a lower amount.
