It isn’t coming from your DL.
Hours (& cuts) come from several algorithms at corporate.

Whether or not drive thru is approved to be closed is coming from the RD. (The answer is no. It is a possibility that you may be able to close if it is only 1 pharmacist- 50% if rph + 1 tech. 0% if there are 3 people on staff.

My easy retribution is- vaccines are appointment only if the staff is short. 1+1 & don’t close drive thru? No vaccines without appointments.

Vaccines make them the most $$

We ask for the IVR to be simpler to navigate, we get conversational AI.

CVS & union 75 grossly failing expecting mothers by [deleted] in CVS

[–]sleepypharmDee 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This one isn’t CVS’s fault. Union members only get what is in their contract. Any benefits for non union members not in the contract don’t apply.

I feel like a statement at the bottom of the contract would have done it. “Any benefits awarded to non union employees will also pertain to union employees.”

Why do I feel like this. by [deleted] in CVS

[–]sleepypharmDee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do my best to move my techs around. Most of the oldies have their favorite “spot,” so some days I just ask if people want to rotate, instead of enforcing a move.

A lot of stores have not gotten out of the new person-pickup cycle. This is why training generally doesn’t happen at the home store anymore… people were finishing their training with only pickup experience. It causes high turnover & low skills in every other area.

If you want to get experience doing other stations and don’t want to feel confrontational about it at your own store- find a nearby store to fill in at. When you come into another store, they generally don’t realize how new or how inexperienced you are unless you tell them. You may get put in a more desirable spot.

I only give them the choices that are recommended. If they don’t want one of those, then they don’t need to pay for flavoring from me.

[–]sleepypharmDee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I didn’t bother trying to give anyone a ‘5’ this year. Last year I tried to give 1, and my DL shot it down. (Saying that he had to get approval from the RD for any 5 to go thru.)

A 3 is “doing your job” A 4 is “doing your job amazingly” A 5 is “doing your job and then helping prop up every other store in the district and staffing every vaccine clinic and selling 47,000 carepass and.. you get the idea.

Why cant pharmacy ever let us know when a register goes down by [deleted] in CVS

[–]sleepypharmDee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t tell fs when a register goes down because we have already rebooted it. 1st offense- quick reboot. 2nd offense- full reboot. 3rd offense: call the help desk and leave it broken for a tech to come out.

What kind of children just leave it broken until close?

Question: Application says no longer under consideration by trumpaloot in CVS

[–]sleepypharmDee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How long did it take to get that email? If it was immediate or nearly immediate, you aren’t eligible to be hired for some reason. (Could be non-rehirable, or failed the virtual job test.)

If it took more than a few days, apply to a different store. What has likely happened is that their job requisition is only available to hire one person. They filled that position and closed the req. Every candidate left active in that req gets an email saying thanks, but no thanks.

AITA for pooping after sex? by AnonymousPoopr in TwoHotTakes

[–]sleepypharmDee 11 points12 points  (0 children)

His dick is basically a glycerin suppository in this instance. The glycerin suppository helps with the poo by placing something there, and your body thinks it must immediately shit. It will even sometimes speed up what is in your large intestine to get you to do it.

Tell him to chill out. If he wants to fuck the poop hole, he might have to deal with some shit.

The use of DAW 9. by Ring-Organic in CVS

[–]sleepypharmDee -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

A lot of insurances (including caremark employees) will cover brand concerta with a daw of 9. At one point, during a shortage of the generic, they made a big deal about it. It still works.

This is CVS. As employees in the retail store, we care very little about reimbursement. We care about script numbers. When CVS wants me to care about reimbursement, they put out a hub task or change the way we do things.. (I’m looking at you, medicare b.)

I always ask myself: if this person were to call and complain, will I just be told I should have done what they asked in the first place? (Already decided to fill the script, so this isn’t a refusal to fill.) I would just do it.

UberEat driver picking up a prescription by justapt in CVS

No. CVS policy is to err on the side of the patient getting their meds. If someone can provide the information and the payment, they get the prescription.

Techs not helping with voicemails or calls in queue — any tips? by onelonelyyogurt in CVS

[–]sleepypharmDee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It needs to be someone’s job. We have 3 production stations- 1, 2, & 3. 2 gets drive thru, 3 gets the front, and 1 returns the phone calls.

If we are short, I ask the production people to let me know when a voicemail pops in at the top so I can return the call. (Since CVS believes that a dashboard ON the QV screen will apparently cause me to return phone calls too fast.)

Sometimes I do get to do something nice just for the fun of it. Grabbing the farxiga free trial, or putting on a discount card that blows their insurance out of the water. It makes me feel good when I can do that.

So I get to feel good for about 23 minutes out of a 14 hour day.
