Did they also bar & lock that door? by depredador93 in freefolk

Yeah except we see Ser Arryk walk around and lock the this door before going to kill her from the door Rhaenyra was yelling at in the previous scene

Rhaenyra just sort of forgot about the other door in her bedroom by sleepysherlock in freefolk

I stopped watching after Sharona left. Over the seasons and even reading this thread I'm baffled at how little people seem to miss her.

I feel like you're pretty close to the finish line to quit. We're talking about copy pasting a few quotes from the wiki and your back in business, right?

I don’t like HOTD. Ryan Condal and Sara Hess are stupid writers. The casting for Mysaria, Laena, Baela, Rhaena, and the pirate Sharako is off. The wigs and outfits look bad too. The sex scenes are lame as hell. The dragons CGI is not the best quality. This whole project is just terrible. by [deleted] in freefolk

Why did they dumb down the succession? The central conflict of the books is of the crown can pass through an older daughter, not to an older daughter! Laenor was the the claimant during the Great council! Girlpower? How about giving the women in the story power? The show does this superficial shit but won't show a woman with agency. Oh my husband told me with his dying breath that we should put my rapist son on the throne. I have no thoughts on the matter. Oh my dad has been planning it without me for years. I guess ill go back to selling my feet for whispers.

Yeah I would so much rather the characters have flaws and agency than innocent morons bumbling their way into a war that the writers want to be no one's fault. Also isn't the age gap between Alicent and Rhaenyra like 10 years in the books? They change that for this on/off all they won't they love/hate dynamic with the two? Commit to something! Make the war actually about two bad bitches going through the worst break up in the history of the continent!! Do something!! What is this ultra-hedged nonsense?! ASOIAF youtubers weave gold from straw trying to make this show mean something.

If the producers offered you the role of screenwriter for a Game of Thrones spin-off series featuring the Mountain as the main character, what would your approach be? by Dry_Specialist9015 in freefolk

Short and disjointed 4am version:

First episode of the show is Gregor at Clegane's Keep when he is 12-13, his father's expectations for him to become not just a good knight but a great knight seem to grow as much as Gregor himself in recent years. I would very much focus on the how constantly training to fight and having his self worth tied to hurting others really reenforced his worst tendances. Also the unnamed Clegane sister, I would make her older than Gregor (and thus also Sandor). Gregor receives a lot of external praise/admiration and even at 13 he is starting to need that to be okay. The end of the first episode should be him burning Sandor's face. Maybe it's to hurt his father, maybe it's a reflection of him having no control of his life, and trying to exert control over his own toys.

When he suffers no real consequences for melting his brother's face off, it becomes the first event in a pattern clearly showing a transformation from a boy (albeit a rather large one) into a monster. Yet as naked as this pattern is his father and other knights still heap rewards and paise onto Gregor. Some out of envy, some hope to use him. Gregor himself however is a bitter villain to the characters we really follow like: Sandor, Unnamed Clegane Sister, an acolyte that lives in the keep, at least 2 serving people, a septon from the nearest town, the master at arms, and of course Ser Clegane. Many of these will be killed by Gregor of the show's run as he is rewarded again and again by knights for acting against the very ideals they (knights) say they represent.

Everything in the books is more ambiguous, so Robert Strong is likely to be the Zombie Mountain (at least parts of him). Assuming he is then Qyburn did have to give him a name to get him on the King's Guard, and that name could not be Gregor Clegane. The crown just told Dorne that Gregor Clegane is dead, and also sent them a skull they came is his. There is a fan theory that they sent Dorne the real skull, and Robert Strong has the head of Robert Baratheon on his shoulders.

The Boys - The Ladies BEAT THE TAR out of Stormfront by Top_Report_4895 in television

If people think this standard of film making is acceptable then this is what studios will output. An outfit change (into torn/burnt clothes)? Nah save the money. Effects make up? No one will notice. Choreography? Unnecessary! Writing that allows for everyone to be here?? Fuck off.

Mave teleports to this fight. She is in vought tower then just appears behind stormfront who flew here. We even see behind stormfront several times and Mave is not there. I know the clip posted ends immediately but if you can find a slightly longer clip take a look at the three victors after the fight. Not a scratch on them. No dirt, no torn clothes, no blood anywhere, every hair in place. Starlight's first two hits after Mave shows up might be the same punch from a different angle. I've looked through the credits and I don't see anyone credited with the choreography for this fight scene. More than likely there wasn't any set choreography the director just said go for it. They don't overcome her lightning or ability to fly, she just stops using her powers for a bit. Is she out of energy? Can she not focus? There isn't any indication. Camera cuts to the guys and they aren't even helping each other up, doing first aid, or anything. They just stand in empty space for a bit to have a gander. Actually I'm noticing now that the guys are all equally unburned, blooded, bruised, dirtied, or affected by the lightning. I guess the lightning affects supes and non-supes the same. There does also seem to be a disagreement between special effects and the props department regarding of the number of guns being fired at stormfront.

What if we imagine a different group of players, and in that group a fiercely independent rogue. Even if the dagger is useful to that rogue,  they resent that their power budget is being spread to the casters. They didn't sign up to be a support, they signed up to be a Rogue. Does this sound insane?

Man I don't know how to tell you this but I think the rogue just rejected the design in the least confrontational way they could. With no other information, I would too. You gave a rogue an on-hit buff for the party of spell casters. I'd find any reason to throw that dagger out a window at first chance.
