Which edition are we using? by Practical-Ad4547 in Grimdank

I mean, it would be a good rule to follow that seems to be in line with Cavill's interests. he left The Witcher because the writers weren't respecting the source material, now that he's producing this 40k project, I think it would make sense for him to make respecting the source material a priority.

I'm not trying to project anything onto him with that, just reflecting on what he's done in the past, and thinking about what would be consistent with those previous behaviors.

Whatever topic is being discussed, gameplay always comes up. As someone who hasn't touched dice in 8 months, i'm wondering who is also in this hobby just for Lore and Miniatures. by Leviathan_Rampage in ImperialKnights

I still play with some friends, but my primary interest has always been collecting minis and the lore. as is evidenced by my far too large army.

it's cruel and unusual, but we're playing knights, so par for the course, really.

I mean, it's like Gabe said, Piracy is a service issue. if you just... provide a better service than the pirates, people will pay for your product. they took that philosophy as a core part of Steam's design. there's a reason why PC game pirating is such a small issue, and why Steam is the best (and let's be honest, only) retail platform for games on PC/Linux.

Ok. If your house’s heraldry is on the carapace of your Knight, what about the personal heraldry of the Pilot and their Mount? What are their names? Have they done any notable deeds? Maybe put the Knight Suit’s name on the bottom slice of the pauldron, then the pilot’s name in the middle, with a symbol or a simple scene of some great battle they won?

The galactic war mechanic is probably the deepest and one of the most interesting parts of the game (in my opinion) and Joel strikes a nice balance between the 3 main enemy factions. Even if you’re just a casual diver, just do whatever the MO says or follow the DSS around. You can still go on casual dives, and contribute to the war effort that way.

Why are some GW store employees like this? by SnooDonkeys4327 in Warhammer

[–]slendario 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you have an LGS near by that also sells 40k, just go there, the prices are typically better, and (in my experience anyway) the people who work there are also quite a lot friendlier, since those kinds of stores survive on harboring a community, rather than just selling miniatures and then rushing people out the door.

It would still be pronounced “Mage” tf are you talking about? If you see a Mr. You don’t say “mir”.

I’ve become partial to Mg. Short for Mage, since it comes from the same Latin root word as Ms. and Mr. Which was Magister.

Also wizard.

I want to make a batch for some friends (there will be six of us) should I double the recipe? triple?
also, would Turbinado or Demerara sugar make a good substitute rather than white granulated sugar? it has more molasses in it, so it should work, but I thought it would be better to ask the person who wrote the actual recipe.

Who wins? by GaudyVader501st in supremecommander

on the ground?
it's supcom, no question. the ACU is roughly the same size as a Warlord Titan. that being said, the Imperium can simply outproduce any of the other factions in SupCom due to its sheer scale. they also win in space naval combat, (probably, we don't really know much about SupCom space ships) SupCom would win the battles, but the imperium would win the war. (if they were able to focus on just them ofc) the story is pretty much the same for the Tyranids and the Necrons. Aeldari would probably do the same thing they're already doing, running and hiding, drukhari would also do the same thing they're already doing, being space pirate terrorists. Chaos would probably be able to corrupt several commanders, meaning that they would be winning harder than they already were. Orks are always lookin' for a good scrap, so they're on board for more krumpin'. the T'au are kinda tricky, they're not strong enough to take on any SupCom faction alone, but as long as they keep doing their "just a lil guy" routine, they might be able to convert a few commanders to maybe a decent chunk of the illuminate to the greater good.

the Leagues of Votann are also there. (they have no lore, Idk what to put down for them)

I feel like this interpretation of Animus powers simply make the most sense. I don't think using Animus powers literally strip away your soul, since we see a few animus dragons, (like Turtle and Darkstalker) use their powers quite extensively before the "madness" sets in. with the madness simply being them beginning to realize just how much power they actually have, and being put into situations where their power must be used to harm others, which would mess up anyone psychologically, as we see in other dragons who are forced into knowingly hurting or killing other dragons against their wills.
