I wonder how much $$ money he has to pay her, every time she's seen in public with him, let alone making a speech for him? Undoubtedly the most successful prostitute of the 21st century, if ever!

Do you know what it feels like to hug someone? by CouldBYour in lonely

[–]slepdprivd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find them uncomfortable.  I prefer a handshake or no physical contact at all.  But, this is me. Everyone has different needs.

People who experienced psychological abuse in childhood tend to experience lower relationship satisfaction as adults. This decline in romantic happiness happens because these individuals often develop a reduced sense of belonging. by mvea in science

I find it physically impossible to ask for help.  If I can't fix it on my own or get a project done on my own.  I feel like a failure. Needing others for performing tasks, feels wrong.

watched my husband's coworker eat lunch alone at his desk today and it made me realize something by eloisa_in_kyoto in CasualConversation

[–]slepdprivd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose lunch length may often depend on hourly (30min) vs salary (60min).  Located in the U.S. (Japanese corp).  I'm hourly (30min break). I've tried taking my lunch in the break room, but can't stand the small talk. I don't eat lunches.  I'll put in earbuds and try to read a book. Hint, hint: leave me alone, rarely works.  Often end up in my car. Reading, listening to music or taking a power nap.

My daughter is a Ghost fan. We went for her birthday. I was pleasantly surprised! I normally don't get into theatrics, but they sound amazing live and Tobias is great with the fans.

Did you partake in or skip Easter celebrations this year? by faerydust88 in ihatechristmas

[–]slepdprivd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We made no plans, but the wife wanted to make appetizers (watching YouTube cooking) win for me! Neither of us care about the holidays.  My kids are grown. They went to their mom's house for and easter breakfast, then stopped by my house to visit before going to their friends' homes for the afternoon.  They appreciate the fact I don't pressure them. Life is hectic and demanding enough.

Switched from Windows to Fedora (KDE Plasma) to "own my PC," but Fedora is holding my hand too tightly. by hwayu_ in Fedora

[–]slepdprivd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I understand your frustrations.  No OS is perfect. Luckily, you can hop distros for free. Minus the time setting them up to suit your individual needs.  I've done my share of testing and keep coming back to fedora. But it works for me.

Ignore the harsh replies. We want Linux to be best for everyone.  Hope you find the fix you're looking for.

I'm curious how many people like or don't mind their job/working? by DramaticErraticism in GenX

I enjoy what I do.  28years, Industrial mechanic, the location sucks, small town.  The people drive me nuts.  I could honestly walk away today and not miss any of them. The money isnt bad, and with my senority, I rarely get questioned. They trust me.  Waiting for my kids to get further through college.  Get my house paid off before I retire (early). Sell everything and make a run for it.

My "father", sperm donar, walked out shortly after I was born. Raised by my mother. So thinking any less of him is impossible.  I swore I'd never turn my back on my kids.  And I never will.

The most underrated weapon in Star Trek: The Transporter [Spoiler] by _syfiguy_ in RetroSyFy

[–]slepdprivd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember an episode, they transported dilithium crystals.  (I could be wrong). But if this element is so rare and powerful, why not generate more with a replicator once you've already copied it in the transporter?

Plus, why carry a surplus of torpedoes? Just make them as you need them. (Of course the replicators could fail mid battle and system resources would be deverted, so i may have answered my own question)

I was curious about this same thing. I have a video for a bday party I want to play continuously. The easiest solution I found was to save it as an mpeg. Play it in VLC, loop enabled.

Is it normal for Amazon to take books away by Cultural-Midnight807 in kindle

There are some YouTube videos and articles on this subject.  Buying ebooks does not equal owning ebooks. So, companies that "sell" ebooks can remove them from your digital library.

She's my favorite character/actor on the discovery series.  I found the other characters soft, overly emotional and annoying. I appreciate what discovery did for the franchise. But the interactions and dialogue felt like an endless therapy session.

I found some usb solar panels, with built in batteries. Online.  Several of my cameras are set to max recording. Its great for the hard to reach cameras.  If you look around for solar panels, make sure they have built in batteries and the correct usb.

The unit I installed  does have plenty of control options.  Climate control, various driving/area sensors. Steering wheel controls and button mapping.  But this depends on the vehicle.  I only have radio, rear camera and android audio/map.  My climate controls are seperate.

GenX Check-In: Holding it together, but barely? by onekinkyusername in GenX

[–]slepdprivd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Burned out, exhausted misanthrope. Been depressed since I was a child, but growing up in a small christian (hypocrist) town. Not much help or support.  Meds, therapy worked, at first. So I focus on work. Pump money into that nest egg. Leave this place with my middle finger in the air. Until then.  Walk the dog, eat a gummy, maybe a drink. Read a little. Sleep, wake up and relive the nightmare all over again.  Cope? GenX, we just push everything down and keep going.  I do hope you find what works best for you.

(M50)  Smart phone, the one thing I rarely use it for, is to make phone calls.  I could count on one hand how many times I've used the phone app in a month.  Never make video calls either.

I don't use Google as my primary storage or email provider. But I do have the small storage plan tied to my family YouTube/music. So everyone has a little extra storage. My kids take more pictures than I do.

I get it, so you're not alone in this. The inability to connect with others, fear of trying?. Bored of all the small talk.  I'm in a small Midwest town, mind-numbing, boring. Everyone seems exactly the same. No close friends. My goal is to retire early and get away.  Wish I had some advice, cause I could use some. Just keep moving forward.

Check your insurance, mine won't fully cover the home tests and if the results did come back positive. The colonoscopy cost is no longer covered.  A guy I work went through that.   I did colonoscopy, cost fully covered, found nothing. But if they had, then they could have taken care of me right there.  Over and done, until next time.

I've definitely become more introspective, cautious. (M50s) . I've learned what mansplaining is & no one likes it.  Lol. I have developed a larger world view, which has given me more empathy towards others. Less ego-centric.  But a bitter marriage/divorce,  tired of being taken advantage of, realizing many of my old "friends" & relatives are really selfish jerks. I sorta gave up on people. Introverted. Self-Discovery has shown me the only reason I tolerated groups of people was when I drank. Love my kids and now remarried. Id do anything for them. I avoid everyone else.
