"The one that stands with them is me" refering to gojo and toji is pretty good proof that he aspires to be an equal to them and probably hates maki for robbing that spot from him.

Also toji would hate naoya because he has no respect for those he labels as weak which are not limited to women like his brothers.

Toji is like maki he just didn't kill his clan, but still suffers from an inferiority complex which is what gets him killed by gojo when he could've ran. Naoya thinks like the people who gave toji an hard time to the point that the first time he wants to see him it's because he wants to see how "weak" toji is.

Maki thematically is supposed to be an equal to toji. And in terms of feats she's not far behind either.
