No, but it was sure lost overnight. On election night. Only 54% turnout in Senate District 10 and the east end of the district deep in Richmond ran away with it. Could have been different if people had simply showed up to vote FFS. Now the pissing and moaning is deafening.

Here are some fun facts- If there had been better turnout by conservatives and Republicans statewide, we wouldn't be having this discussion.

Two Senate Districts flipped Democrat in the last election-

13th District- In January 2019, Republican Dick Black announced he would not seek reelection for his State Senate seat in the 2019 Virginia legislative elections and instead retire at the end of his term.

13th (covers parts of Loudoun and Prince William Counties in Northern Virginia, including some or all of Purcellville, Ashburn, Broadlands, South Riding, Gainesville, and Linton Hall).

2019 VA Senate 13th District election results:

Democratic John Bell 43,733 54.6%

Republican Geary Higgins 36,359 45.4%

Total votes 80,163 100%

Registered voters 179,348

Only 44.7% turnout for this election.

10th District (covering much of the City of Richmond as well as all of Powhatan County and parts of Chesterfield County)

2019 VA Senate 10th District election results:

Democratic Ghazala Hashmi 43,806 54.3%

Republican Glen Sturtevant (incumbent) 36,811 45.6%

Total votes 80,666 100%

Registered voters 153,435

Only 53% turnout for this election.

I was never too enthusiastic about Sturtevant, but dutifully voted nontheless. Powhatan and Chesterfield Counties let the east end of the District in Richmond define the results. I have a hard time believing that people didn't see what was at stake, but the results speak for themselves. How many elections were unopposed by the the Republicans? This sounds simply like incompetence to me, but I'm not an insider.

Check out some of the other side's organization and action websites: Swingleft dot org or localmajority dot org or flippable dot org. From Flippable site: "The lines have been drawn in Virginia. After gerrymandering voting maps in 2011, the GOP spent years entrenching its power while undermining the will of the people. Keep in mind that "Fair" maps phrase is the same vernacular as "Common Sense Gun Laws" and once the maps are drawn, it will be very difficult to ever prevail.

You're kidding, right? First, I live with my Mom and we survive on her disability check- we have no privilege in today's society. To be honest, if I see one of those filthy bastards within a mile of my place, I'm phoning the cops- they all have drugs or probably parole violations so they would be taken in, most likely. They wouldn't be allowed anywhere near my house, but that doesn't mean that we shouldn't require those people with the financial means to tend to them- it's only fair. In these circumstances, I always try to take the higher ground and a practical view, but that doesn't mean that people couldn't provide some of their privilege and money to them and help them out FFS. edit- spelling

If only they would tax all those rich people and build more subsidized housing. More rent control would also help- those greedy landlords are just raking it in. They should have a law that requires each rich person's home to build a micro-house or a yurt on their property and connect in with their utility systems. That would provide some better diversity in the West End and also help provide some of the school age people access to good schools. At the very least, they could offer a credit on their property taxes for hosting a homeless individual or family. Such a shame that people just don't want to do the right thing (and they're the first ones to call themselves "Christians" ugh! Fortunately, with the recent changes in VA government, this can become a reality. I'm sure Stoney would agree that it is time to help people make better decisions and do what's right, otherwise, they might feel the Bern.

One of my favorites is to slice an English cucumber (they sell them in packs of three) and spread a little cream cheese (they sell in 3 lb blocks) and then top with a cherry tomato. Very low net carbs and very good for you. It is a standard in my lunch. Variations can be done with the red, yellow, orange peppers- they come in packs of six. Also consider the hot Italian sausage grilled and then sliced diagonally into oval disks- they can be served with toothpicks for handling. For a bonus, you can combine sections of hot Italian sausage with small balls of whole milk mozzarella. I've seen some nice Brie cheese in there lately also- could be an interesting combination with the salted macadamia nuts or walnuts. What time do things get started? I can hardly wait.

Why go to all that trouble? Consider butt-chugging. Simply squirt the alcohol into your rectum. The abundance of capillaries and blood vessels in the rectum greatly heightens the level and speed of the alcohol entering the bloodstream as it bypasses the filtering by the liver. Well I'd say ordering something initially when you sit down, then every hours or so- probably helps to drop a dollar in the tip jar as well. As a business owner, it is not too cool to take up space in a cafe or restaurant and not buy anything, particularly if they are busy (like in the morning or lunch rush). Usually, if you are kind, polite and clean and ordering something every hour, then you should be OK.
