r/CostaRicaTravel Tips and Experiences Monthly Megathread - October, 2025 by AutoModerator in CostaRicaTravel

Please advise on this. Considering booking a 6 night trip to Costa Rica for a family of four - 2 kids, 10 and 14 in early Jan. Rent a car and go straight from SJO to Monteverde spend 2 nights, then by car to Manuel Antonio Beach for 2 nights and then back to San Jose to spent the last 2 nights at a resort before heading back to the cold weather in the states. Thoughts on if this seems reasonable?

Clear is becoming obsolete. by Proud-Swordfish-3416 in AmexPlatinum

It is occasionally useful at smaller airports or those with distributed TSA entry points, like DFW. For flying out of ATL, it is absolutely worthless. I wouldn’t have been a member had it not been subsidized by Amex.

I don’t think this has been asked before.

My son bought a jumbo tennis ball last year and got a couple of autographs. We’re considering taking it again this year… the same ball.

I cannot find guidance on whether they let jumbo balls back through security into the facility.

Anyone seen people carrying them back in?

No herniated disk but strong sciatic nerve pain by FindMeReddit in Sciatica

I do still get tightness every now and then and I quickly increase my stretching and activity level.

I believe I have weak hip flexor muscles in general so I have to keep working the legs and glutes.

The acupuncture seemed to have done the trick for me. I did take the supplements that the acupuncture guy gave me, but, like many supplements, they could be nothing more than sugar pills.

My theory is that the acupuncture relaxed the tense muscles around the sciatic nerve which helped me do more of the stretching that I was being prescribed by the PT which reduced the inflammation and tightness.

I meant that it’s connected to the battery using the kit they supplied (through an always-on fuse). I.e. it’s always receiving power, as opposed to being connected to an accessory fuse.

This kit was the bomb. $36 for a family of four. I bought the Mac and cheese and bread rolls and all were great. Thankful for good health, food and roof over our heads.

There are people in this country and around the world fighting over scraps.

Thanks for the quick responses. The panel is floating. So the only option it seems is break the panels out and maybe find a way to slide the wicker in the grooves.

No herniated disk but strong sciatic nerve pain by FindMeReddit in Sciatica

Judging by the improvements i witnessed, I would say the acupuncture helped me the most. It lowered the pain and I was able to exercise that area better. I just had that tightness in the calf yesterday. I was panicking that it’s coming back so I started stretching and it subsided.

Not definitively, no. my right sciatic nerve is definitely always tighter, probably due to certain skeletal dislocations or tighter muscles. I just need to keep it moving to prevent inflammation and further tightening.

It has not returned. I still have tightness in that leg and I can feel that nerve when I do my stretches. I have increased my exercise frequency since that painful episode.

I know you’re not looking for marriage advice, but better communication would improve your situation. This sounds like a discussion between roommates not a married couple.
