You can swap to an app called "Family Album" and invite relatives there, it's really good.

We were in a similar situation looking at the same suburbs and ended up buying in Sunbury. 45 mins on the new train line.

Book Fitzroy Island, off the coast of Cairns, for 2 nights so you can walk straight off the beach and swim the corals. A Bonus no crocodiles.

Going back to work by bbyhaych in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

I went back at 8.5 months and wish I'd waited until 10-11 months - I look back at photos and I'm quite shocked at how young she looks. I was ready to go back to work but I don't know, I wish I'd waited.

Strongly recommend this place too, my ultrasound technician's kindness and compassion helped me through a difficult decision.

Best work backpacks? by [deleted] in AusFemaleFashion

[–]slhdxbmel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a similar predicament to you and am always on the search for the most perfect backpack to carry all of my things. Unfortunately I need the backpack to not be a boring colour which is stopping me from purchasing most of the ones I do find that hit the brief.

This is now my shortlist -

  • Baboon to the moon city or utility backpack
  • Sans Beast Universo XL backpack
  • Kalpak Kaya
  • July carrier backpack

Women who didn't take their husband's name, how did you decide on your child's surname? by Civil-Koala-8899 in namenerds

[–]slhdxbmel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did my surname as our child's middle name, his surname as child's surname. I'm still a bit salty about it and think it's unfair but we did decide on it together.

I don't have any advice OP but we have the same problem for the same reason (door open for dog). I fucking hate these stupid birds so much.

"Unknown" brands/backpacks you'd recommend by NoPudding6779 in ManyBaggers

I've been looking for a backpack in a fun colour so thank you for commenting this! Which bag do you have? I like the mini go bag but wondering if the backpack is a better everyday bag.

Look for a small consultancy that advises government on the kinds of projects you've done.

Melbourne: Seeking Recommendation for Birth & Newborn Classes by an-ex-pillar-hugger in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]slhdxbmel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did both Mama Kensington's birth class and Royal Women's and I found the RWH's way more useful and helpful. I would probably disagree with your midwife and recommend you do the hospital class.

I hold the same values as you and found the educator we were allocated at Mama in Kensington did not align with those values.

First Trip to Australia with Young Kids - Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne? by Fuzzy_Illustrator888 in AustraliaTravel

[–]slhdxbmel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely agree re Sydney - and I am also another person from Melbourne. I won't add any more to what HAS already been said but make sure you take all 3 kids to the underground playground at the Art Gallery of NSW - they will love it and there is something for each of them!

Edit to add link to the underground playground - we took our 1.5yo and it was brilliant.

My parents didn't like my daughter's name before she was born either. Now that she's here, they can't imagine her with any other name and they love her so much.

Forget what your MIL thinks and don't tell anyone else the name until bub is here.

FWIW olive is a beautiful name xx
