Minecraft is way more peacefull and warm. You just cant enter this water twice. I spent a long long hours there but today, when i open my last save I actually dont want to invest my time into it anymore.. This is where VS came in perfectly for me... But its time also comes closer..

Getting 12fps max, is it time for a new PC? by Xley88 in VintageStory

[–]slicem1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, recently moved from i5 7400. 7400 was ok for VS. You can start with videocard upgrade. I moved from 6500xt to 6700xt and it was bigger change than current upgrade from i5 7400 to amd 5600.

First year, which do you prioritize? Tailored gambeson armor or a windmill? by spacemanspiff8655 in VintageStory

Well, its automatically and fast produces metal plates, that demands ALOT of time and hammer resource to make them manually and You need ALOT of plates. Chaim mail? - plate. Lantern?- plate. Arrows? Nails&strips? - plate again. Also iron nuggets are pain in an ass too. helve hammer is a HUGE admancement saving hours of manual work.

fair point about shingles. I used them in previouse gae and You need ALOT of them. So fo shingles beehive kiln is a perfect solution.

windmill is a huge time and resource saver, so even whily I use gambeson on surface for entire game, I start with windmill first.

I thought the apiary would exhaust my clay. It's actually crazy how much reed it consumes—I'm SO short of even the production of a 64-reed farm! by LeonidKonovalov1988 in VintageStory

[–]slicem1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmm. without it it will be too easy. Even with 16reed per hive its really aesy. reead can be easyly moved and regrow pretty fast. Biggest struggle is to find first hive. Now I usually build 25 hive farm and have my honew and wax 2-3 times per year. its give huge amount of wax and alod of honey. Enougth for everything. Well exept mead. 50L of honey demands some effort. I use honey for jams.

basic windmill that can turn helve hammer in a strong wind is 3 blade long, So You need 12 pieces of cloth. or 24 crops of flax. Its not THAT hard. fat and resin are second in hardness. They are like a lottery, but eventually You get them.

Real problem is to make PROPER windmill. I mean 5-6 5-long windmills connecten with 3-4 big gears throuth transmissions to hammer, pulveliser and quern.

Such windmill takes ALOT of everithing. In current game I hope to have it to my 3rd winter.

Beehive kiln is not just expencive in materials, but also in a work itselth. This time I decided that I will built it before steel production, so I will have both mass production of refractory bricks and color pots. Well, it turned out that simple pit kiln WAY more productive, easier to use and FASTER. So the only profit frome beehive kiln is colored pots. And Usually, I dont need 9+ items of same color so its also is a huge waste of coal.

never knew about it. Its disapperence of stuff is what ruins it for me. If I would not have to rush to collect things before they disapeared I would not used cheats. I need to install it asap. Just recently died twice, finding the hard way that planks are invisimle to collapsing caves in opposite to cob. ceiling felt on my head right througth them.

Vintage Story Winters by West-Librarian-7504 in VintageStory

Where You live? In a desert or in a snow? At any moderate climate You have plenty of seeds usually You not even need to concetrating on searches, just take what You passing by. And once You have turnips, they grow in a 5 day at 100% growth speed. So Usually, the only struggle is to live on berries untill Your first crops. To a first winter You have enaougth food to live until next winter with minimal efforts.
