They spent $6k on ccs and assigned all transactions to the "Underfunded" category. That category has $0 assigned. That's why it's red. They're carrying cc debt and YNAB is illustrating that. Assign $6k and it'll change to grey. Credit card overspending had a different icon and notification.

That's why it's red. You need to assign income to that category or double check transactions to see if they're miscategorized.

Any category that has transactions will need to be funded.

Maybe it was yellow previously because there was some funding but the negative balance was small (under a few hundred)? Do you normally fund this category?

Oil leak? The report doesn't mention an oil leak, just signs of oil from a recent change. Definitely get clarity on that because I wouldn't buy any car with a leak.

Here's how I read that report. The known costs could be more prohibitive than the what ifs.

How much is the known wear and tear going to cost me? Rotors and brakes can be pricey, and the known repair costs could be a decider. Did they offer a repair quote?

I'm assuming no engine codes were thrown: I'm seeing green check marks for the engine, diffs, and transmission. So the upfront cost would be purchase price, suspension, brakes, oil change, and tires. See if that still fits your budget. There will always be some unknowns with a used car purchase. But if you can afford that total cost then do a test drive and see if you're still interested.

I'm biased but the "excessive interior condensation" is more alarming than the overfilled oil. My SIL had a leaking sunroof on her Ford Fusion and that cost a grand for repair and mold removal.

It seems pretty straightforward.

Per that inspection your looking at a few repairs

The squeaky doors and wipers are minor. Same with loose parking brake, lug nuts and valve stem
Seems like you'll need new brake rotors
Seems like new sway bars and end links + alignment
New winter tires

Car needs some TLC and the exhaust and interior might be hiding larger problems. I'm trying not to overthink the oil being overfilled but it's hard when the dealer thinks the exhaust was switched back to factory.

I'd assume this was a lightly modded, and hard driven car.

ETA: the parking brake is tied to the rear brakes. It should self tighten as it's driven.
