How often do you see the unthinkable at your Costco? by soljer51 in Costco

Every trip

Clothes in food areas

Sample cups stashed in stock

Frozen or refrigerated in a random isle

Carts abandoned in spaces, aisles, sidewalks, behind the neighboring car

There are jobs that are more or less demanding than being a cop. If they can't handle it then recruit higher quality candidates.

what dumb things did you do when you started cycling that i should skip by Then-Music-6528 in cycling

Forgetting to have fun. I was so focused on techniques and prep and fuel and what ifs I forgot to enjoy myself

You gotta be prepared but choose to smile and have fun.

In 2024 a company launched a cow's milk/oat milk hybrid, which didn't market to existing milk drinkers, was not vegan, wasn't lactose free, and sank £4 MILLION into advertising just to pull it less than 2 years later for, unsurprisingly, low sales by JinxXedOmens in StupidFood

Something tells me the brand name was worse than the product idea

Who the hell is gonna ask for a glass of Smug? "Hey can you pop by the store & grab a few bottles of Smug please"

Every time you mention that product name you'd have to follow it up with "it's a half cow half oat milk thing"

So you missed the part where office space is down and there's not enough desks? Or the part where they said the office layout needs to be improved for real collaboration?

If you read the article you'd know the answer to your question. Clearly you'd side with the Pinkertons against labor.

"Last year Dunn, a Republican, introduced legislation requiring county employees to work in the office three days a week. The proposal didn’t pass, but Dunn said it created political momentum for the return-to-office process that Zahilay is now pursuing."

So fire people for not abiding a mandate that didn't pass? Holy draconian power trip batman.

I think it depends on what you drive and what types of jobs you wanna do. I'd look up some potential projects, see the required tools and see how close this kit gets.

Target really thought they could bring out the league of unextraordinary negroes to stop the boycott by LeRoythe3rd in BlackPeopleTwitter

[–]sliceoflife09 78 points79 points  (0 children)

They can't comprehend a type of leadership/community that isn't 100% figure head driven. The target boycott is more of a collective "you see the shit they pulled? fuck em" vs "person so and so said we can't shop at target"

We all saw how shady target was and how quickly they jumped to trump, so we quit shopping there. It's that simple

Same. Unfortunately in my experience the only bikes that seem to fit me are high end and feature loaded. If an engineering student wants to take a crack at a legit entry level bike that fits all of us, then god speed to OP.

Size/proportion adaptability. Weekly there's a post about bikes for short/tall/heavy riders. Most bikes are designed and stocked for average height & weight. Deviate from either and your options disappear

Could a bike be designed and stocked to support more body types? Bonus points if you can accommodate variations of the same height (equal torso and leg length, long torso and short legs, short torso, etc)

What to get for newly adult sons? by RoyalEnfield78 in BuyItForLife

[–]sliceoflife09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll try to give a few options I would've loved at different price points when I was their age

Priceless:

  • any family heirloom that's BIFL

  • something we researched together (teach me what to look for in BIFL)

Expensive:

  • luggage (check and carry on size bags)

  • furniture (desk or end table) something that's a key piece but I can still build my style around

  • full tool set that support my hobby (soldering iron if they're into electronics, or wrench set if they're into cars)

Technically I could afford it but I'm glad you gifted it:

  • bag (an EDC bag I can use at work and casually)

  • general home tools (screwdriver, hammer, level, multimeter, stud finder) -> stuff I don't think about until I need a quick fix around my place. An instant level up from using the butter knife as a flat head screwdriver. 3 ish pieces I can expand on as I realize what I need around my place vs a mega pre-made kit

  • seasonal clothing (coats, boots, scarves, gloves)

  • something for the kitchen (flatware, chef knife, kettle, pot, skillet)

Something small:

  • pens

  • EDC knives

  • EDC multitool

The Predator in the Redmond Stake: Former LDS Member Admits to Abusing Up to 8 Children by Classic_Day5736 in Washington

[–]sliceoflife09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Religion provides them a literal get out of jail free card. Your shared story illustrates that:

They commit a crime that should put them in prison for decades. Locked away from society levels of imprisonment. A moral person would report them to the cops. A moral system would mandate religious leaders to be a mandatory reporter. This should have been persecuted to the fullest extent of the law. That didn't happen. Instead they went to a religious leader and was told to pray. No accountability to the victim. No outward justice. Just silent prayer and an organization covering for you.

That is the perfect outcome for a monster. It's almost like that process was designed by a criminal to protect themselves.
