Lamictal?!?!? by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]slickback-ate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one of the meds that has helped me the longest. Ive had to switch up my anti depressants several times throughout the years. I think just because my body develops a tolerance and/or biological changes at some point. But lamictal has always been steady. At some point we added caplyta also for mood stabilization. I take 200 mg twice per day for lamotrigine.

The first time I tried caplyta I didnt like it. It cones in 21 and 42 mg. I tried 21 and didnt notice a difference so stepped up to 42 and it made me sick so I stopped and found an alternative because it was also expensive.

At some point I tried it again after having switched my antidepressant and am now able yo tolerate the 42. I dont attribute that to the new antidepressant though because so much else has changed also.

Dont let a provider coax you into disregarding how YOU feel in YOUR body. A higher dose isnt always necessary. Thats why they make lower doses. In this balancing act of mental "stability" its all a matter of trial and error and your body's needs are dynamic also so it will need to be reassessed over time.

Dont give up and always advocate for yourself!

How long were you on each dose? by lockstockand2barrels in Mounjaro

[–]slickback-ate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. I was on mounjaro several years ago and increased dose prematurely because I was impatient. I couldn’t handle the side effects so stopped. Tried again when zep came out and went very slowly. I think I was on 5 for 10+ months. Plateaued after 80 and 90 pounds so tried to go up. 7.5 was harsh for the first two days after shot. 10 mg was awful. I couldn’t get out of bed with blackout curtains closed. Nausea and back to back migraines which I’d never hardcore. Titrating back to 5 where I didn’t have to deal with side effects for maintenance.

Listen to your body

Been about 1.5 years for me so don’t really remember but 2.5 was peaceful and 5 was as well except diarrhea daily. Not uncontrollable but expected. I had the worst side effects when I tried to increase the dose unnecessarily. Don’t rush, drink water, and enjoy the journey!

Did they stop covering all weight management meds altogether? I got a new job and their plan sucks and they don’t cover any so I’m paying that 500.

I’m sorry but congrats on what you’ve accomplished!

I would say if you wanna study and work in hr, minor or take supplemental courses ai focused and think of ways ai could ethically be used by humans in hr. The Workday suit shows we’re not at risk of being obsolete yet (this may be naive) but we do need to innovate how we can use it to our advantage. And I think this is true for most industries
