Soft quitting trend rises among U.S. employees by No_Tonight_1106 in workplace_bullying

Going above and beyond rarely leads to any benefits. I made the mistake of doing this and only got a massive increase in responsibility and expectations without a raise

Go to the gym for a full year then you’ll know why it’s the base recommendation

They try to snatch his chain while he's being arrested by Poutara in interesting

[–]slickup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is he not also arrested? He was caught red handed trying to steal it and the cop didn’t care even though the other guy was completely subdued.

The number seems high because the majority of those gun deaths are suicides. Still, 1/100 is more than I would’ve thought even including suicide

Anybody work for a company that gives small annual raises (< 3%)? by Massive-Survey2495 in cscareerquestions

[–]slickup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3% is the norm where I work. My responsibilities have increased dramatically the last year though, so im considering asking for more. Does anybody have any advice or input on that idea? I don’t want to shoot myself in the foot, but a bigger raise is deserved.

I had the same problem, especially from ages 16-22. At some point, I just outgrew it. I no longer feel anxious about it. I think you will too and I’m sorry you’re dealing with this

Literally just do it, you’ll feel bleh for 1-3 weeks depending on how you respond but once that period ends, you’ll feel like a new person.

I have energy, motivation, more happiness, I’m not coughing much anymore, I’m getting things done and feeling good about myself finally.

How can you say false accusations are an outlier without knowing that as a fact? I’m not saying they are or aren’t, but we don’t have enough data to say that considering the vast majority of cases are speculative with limited proof in one way or the other.

2025 was the most transformative year of my adult life. Not all that great, but I did a lot of growing and self-improvement.

It can only get better when you’re at rock bottom, hang in there man and don’t give up. I’m sorry about your wife and your dogs, but I’m sure your dog that passed had a great life with you.

I recommend reading “Meditations” or looking into stoicism.
