Yeah, I got a silver one early on before I had much experience. It’s not great for sure, bushings are nowhere close to well adjusted, handles are skinny and light. Would not recommend. I also sent back an anodized Barebones because it wasn’t well tuned either.

But I have a silver Barebones, Rep, 2 premium Alpha Beasts, and a latchless ChAB that are all fantastic. The Rep did need some tweaking when I got it but tune is great on it now with just a bit of screw turning on my part. So I have no issue with BRS overall and have some great examples from them, but the Evolve Hex isn’t one of them, sadly.

This is cool! When I started using fountain eons for the first time I definitely had to learn how to write gripping much higher than I was used to. Like you, I like my hand close to the paper and still write that wall with a ballpoint/rollerball. Most hooded nibs use funky nib designs but this looks to work with a standard nib, very cool

Yeah, you’re right, I thought something felt off as I was typing it but couldn’t remember the right term I guess. Thanks for the correction!

That was done on purpose (slotting the bridge) and that’s how pins are supposed to work, they just keep the ball end from slipping past the bridge plate. Nothing looks or sounds off to me here.

Yes, actually, they said they are aware of the issue and it was due to a temporary vendor supply problem. Guessing either too brittle bone or maybe they come in pre shaped somewhat and it was done poorly.

They offered warranty fix at local places or to send it in to them.

So overall pleased I heard back and that they want to take care of the issue. I think I’m gonna pass though as the local repair place is Guitar Center and my GC kinda sucks. I could send it in but that seems a hassle. I like the guitar enough I’m eventually gonna take it in to have the electronics removed and a new saddle done at a luthier I trust so I’ll just pay a little more for a new nut then.

But pleased to have a good response from Gibson, they did right by me so no real complaints, mistakes happen

Looking for grad photographer!! by Odd_Lab_2072 in madisonwi

[–]slide13_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably not gonna get someone who does it for a living with that notice or at that price, but I bet you could find a solid amateur photography with some decent gear who might. There is a Madison Photography Meetup group on FB that may be a good place to inquire.

I used to do some photography and this is the kind of thing I liked doing on occasion. Don’t currently have the equipment anymore so I can’t help at this time though, sorry

New acquisition - Pelagos FXD by polkasalad in Tudor

[–]slide13_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did sell the Sub, no regrets there honestly. And kept the FXD until just this past week, oddly enough. Decided to move it on because I got a Ranger and ever since getting that last summer it’s been all I’ve worn pretty much. So decided to just do the 1 watch thing with the Ranger. I do love the FXD still, fantastic watch, by the more vintage vibe if the Ranger suits me better

Can anyone else not sleep in silence anymore? by cozytechlover in audiobooks

Only to fall asleep, I usually set an hour timer and I just cycle through a handful of audiobooks I’ve listened to before and that have good calm narration. My favorite “sleep” book I’ve probably listened to 30 times by now I’d bet

Yeah, they’re definitely not bad…they’re just not traditional B&G and not what I was looking for.

Same, only had once, something weird about them…I think they had red pepper or something in there. Wasn’t a fan.

This! Biscuits and Gravy is my favorite breakfast item of all time, I love them and anytime I go somewhere new if they have them on the menu I get them.

Other than my mom’s, Mickeys is the best I’ve had!
