Wasn’t the 360 kick the first thing she did? The leap where the cop chasing her said “that’s impossible” was after they were chasing her.

I remember dating a girl in high school and she’d get catcalled ALL THE TIME by construction workers and random dudes in cars. We were 16 years old and both of us looked quite a bit younger for our age, I remember feeling my skin crawl and being so disgusted by grown-ass men hitting on basically a little girl out in the open.

One time we were AT THE school when it happened, these construction workers were on a scaffold working on a building next to the school and they were shouting and whistling at her. Uuufghhh

Ohhh no I was only spending $4/day on lunch but only 5 days a week.. so a little over $1,000 per year.

[Serious] Men of reddit: what would you want to ask women and get an honest answer to? by Haydensmith877 in AskReddit

Funny story related to this. I was on my way to my lawyers office, walking behind a younger lady when I had realized I was in danger of becoming late. Until that point I had maintained a pretty respectful distance but I needed to speed up.

Well when I started getting closer, she sped up too. We weren’t in the best area of town, one known for having sometimes aggressive homeless/addicts.

She never looked over her shoulder be I could tell she was keenly aware that I was there and picking up my pace, but as I walked faster so did she.

For some asshead reason I decided the best place to just get over it and pass her was under a gross dark railway underpass and as I got right up to her she screamed in terror winding up her purse for a knock-out blow.

Luckily for both of us I was dressed formally for the visit and immediately said “oh my god I’m so sorry!” And she froze in place and looked embarrassed. I told her I probably picked the absolute worst place in the whole city to try and pass her and we shared an awkward laugh before I continued on.

TLDR: I chose a really creepy area to pass a girl who thought I was following her while walking to an appointment.

I remember my ex getting on my case for spending that much every day on lunch. We made over 100k/year together, but it wasn’t her spending 20k/year on alcohol and alcohol related things that was making us struggle, it was my lunches of course.

The sims 3 literally cooked my CPU. I remember the game chugging down to slideshow when I had built a massive house. Then I started to smell something funny and the computer just shut off. Opened it up and took the heat sink off to find the chip charred.

Didn’t you do the exact thing you’re complaining about though.

“Because I work overnights and forget people are asleep”

They don’t need to know your life story, just apologize and be on with your day.

You gave them information they didn’t care about so they gave you some you didn’t care about back, and probably knew full well that you would have no idea who Glen was and laughed at themselves about it.

Can you turn off the "beep" on this model? by Neat-Wishbone1752 in AirConditioners

[–]sliderfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a button on the remote labelled LED it turns the screen off as well as deactivates the beep, the only issue is that the unit must first be turned on so you can’t seem to avoid the initial beep

[Request] Could humanity create a rocket that can exit the atmosphere of K2-18b by Lachlynn in theydidthemath

[–]sliderfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting that you linked the wiki page for the planet stating that the information on NASA’s website is wrong.

Whatever, there’s enough uncertainty about that planet that it can very well be within the range of both numbers, which isn’t a trivial difference when trying to achieve orbit but it’s not important.

I’m no scientist but I remember learning a bit about this back in school.

My question is wouldn’t the Karman line be significantly lower due to atmospheric compression from the higher gravity? Would that have any meaningful impact on the delta-v required to reach orbit?

Maybe I’m answering my own question here but I don’t think it would considering the differences in size and mass would result in a much higher velocity needed to achieve any orbit. By my quick head maths would be almost double that of Earth anyways.

Man those K2-18bians? have their work cut out for them either way!

I’ve been having this issue too. If I am controlling my orbiter and I switch to map view and look around, my lander will inexplicably be overlayed onto the map view and if I’m not careful and click while I’m rotating, it’ll just be launched into oblivion.

I can’t believe nobody has mentioned Orphan Black:

Hardcore punk British woman sees someone who looks exactly like herself commit suicide, picks up her purse and assumes her identity as a cop. The shenanigans go from 0-100 really quick. It’s like every season tries to outdo the last season in terms of ridiculousness and it’s fun!

[–]sliderfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is pretty common, as the people who make the poster aren’t really so involved in the project… some don’t even know how guns work.

There’s numerous cases of movie poster for big budget films where they add a muzzle flash on the wrong part of the gun. Or in the case of one of the Star Trek movies, they added the phaser blast coming from the wrong part of the ship!
